On Lab and Classroom machines on campus, Mozilla Firefox is currently blocking playback of flash objects, including streaming videos hosted on Rev.  If you load up a streaming video and cannot get the video to play, look for the following icon in the address bar.

Once you click on the red icon, choose “Allow and Remember” and your flash objects will work as expected on the page.

We recently completed the migration of all LTC / LS Media produced streaming video content into the new video solution, VBrick Rev.  The system can be accessed by going to http://streaming.uww.edu

After logging in, click on “Media” and then “My Videos” to access the videos associated with your account.

All video links will need to be manually replaced inside of your D2L courses.  The videos from the old solution were retired on Jan 1st, 2016.

On Thursday, November 19, Desire2Learn deployed Service Packs 21 and 22 to our D2L Learning Environment. In this latest update, the following fixes and enhancements were included:

Content

• Fix: Internet Explorer users were not able to view linked PDF files. Linked PDF files now open in the document viewer, or prompt the user to download the file regardless of the web browser you are using.

Copy Components

• Fix: Previously, when using Copy Course Components to copy items to a different org unit, any release conditions associated with rubrics would not copy. Now all release conditions associated with rubrics copy successfully when using Copy Course Components to copy items to an org unit.

Discussions

• Fix: In some cases, the Statistics in Discussions did not sort users with the same last name alphabetically. If you sorted the list in ascending or descending alphabetical order, the list of students with the same last name remained the same. Discussion Statistics now enable you to sort the list in ascending or descending order as expected.

ePortfolio

• Fix: In some cases, new ePortfolio activity did not appear on Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. Before the page was fully loaded, a javascript error appeared. Now, new ePortfolio activity appears in the activity feed as expected.

Kaltura

• Fix: In some cases, when using Kaltura on a Mac, the microphone was not detected. As a result, users were not able to record sound. The microphone is now detected and you are able to record webcam sound as expected.

Quizzes

• Fix: When you selected a grade to export for a quiz, the “Allow automatic export to Grades” check box text would remain gray; however, you could select it. Now when a user selects a grade item, the check box appears as expected and the user can select the option to export grades immediately.
• Fix: In some cases, creating short answer questions with a template provided in the downloadable CSV file resulted in a question with unexpected evaluation method selected. As a result, users could not create short answer questions with custom evaluation methods. Users can now use the template for creating short answer questions and apply their own evaluation methods as expected.

Rubrics

• Fix: In some cases, from within a grade item with an attached rubric, you were not able to edit the rubric feedback, insert a quick link, or use the spell checker. From within a grade item with an attached rubric, a pop-up editor is now available to edit the item.
• Fix: Previously, the Rubrics tool did not display a search bar if a course only had archived rubrics. In the Rubrics tool, the search bar is now always present on the list page. If only archived rubrics exist in the course, it is possible to access them by modifying the search options to show archived rubrics in the search results. It is still the default behavior that archived rubrics are not shown by default in the search results.

SCORM

• Fix: In some cases, in Grades, when you clicked the SCORM icon in the Enter Grades area, you encountered an error. Now, if you click the SCORM icon in the Enter Grades area, you see the correct amount of user time tracked against a SCORM object.

Surveys

• Fix: Previously, in the Surveys tool, when exporting an Individual Attempts Report to a CSV file, the data for matching questions (MAT) did not include the # Responses column value for the last match on a given question. The data for matching questions has now been corrected.
