In order to correct some of the Desire2Learn known issues impacting Discussion Statistics and Quiz Grading, there will be a brief D2L outage on Tuesday, May 3rd, from 5:00 AM to 5:30 AM. During this time, users may experience issues accessing Desire2Learn. There will also be additional work being done during the afternoon and evening to correct the known issues which does not require an outage.

There are currently 2 high priority tickets open with Desire2Learn that have came up this week.
1) Discussion Statistics. Users clicking on the Statistics option in the discussions tool may experience an error message: “Error: Internal Error There was an error processing the page you requested.” Users may be able to work around the issue be accessing the statistics for a forum or topic through the “View Form Statistics” or “View Topic Statistics” options in the drop-down menus next to those items.
2) [RESOLVED] Quizzing Grading Screen. When accessing grade options within the quiz tools, users may receive an internal error. We do not have a work around at this time.

The end of the semester is coming to an end and many of us are scrambling to collect all the work that we have done over the course of the semester! If you are graduating or leaving the University, and have an ePortfolio, then it’s important to know about myDesire2Learn.
myDesire2Learn is a cloud-hosted ePortfolio that lets you import all your information from your ePortfolio in D2L.
To access myDesire2Learn log into D2L and click on the Export myDesire2Learn button on the right side of your D2L homepage.
Next, a screen will appear that gives instructions on how Export your ePortfolio. You will first need to create a EduDentity account. When you have created your account and have returned to the D2L homepage, click on the Export to MyDesire2Learn button.
On the next page, click on the Add Items box. You can then select all the items you would like to export. After you have selected all the items you want, click Add. 
Login to your EduDentity account on the pop-up screen. After you login the following screen will appear letting you know the status of your ePortfolio.
After your ePortfolio has a status of complete you can login to your EduDentity account at https://www.mydesire2learn.com/d2l/login and your ePortfolio will be waiting for you, and you never have to worry about it going away!

Summary: On Saturday, April 23th, Learn@UW performed a scheduled database upgrade as a necessary preparation for the upcoming Desire2Learn upgrade in June. Beginning around 10AM on Monday, April 25th, users began to encounter errors, and Learn@UW technologists started to investigate the issues. At 8:40AM on Tuesday, April 26th, we reported that the errors were resolved, except for the discussion statistics issue. At 8:15AM on Wednesday, April 27th the initial errors returned with some more severe errors. The decision was made at 10:30AM by Learn@UW to take the system offline to preserve the data integrity and to allow for more intensive diagnostics. Throughout the day, Learn@UW worked closely with high level Microsoft and Desire2Learn technicians to diagnose and implement a fix. Services were restored at 12:30AM on Thursday, April 28th. We again would like to thank everyone for their patience during this outage.
RESOLVED Thursday 4/28 12:30AM: Desire2Learn services have been restored and are now available. Thank you for your patience during the outage. Please continue to report any issues using the contact UW-W D2L Support form.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 11:00PM: Desire2Learn services remain unavailable. Learn@UW has received recommendations from vendors and is currently working through a plan to implement the changes.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 8:45PM: Desire2Learn services remain unavailable. Technologists continue to review the diagnostic information. It is likely that the service will need to be temporarily restored in order to test anticipated resolutions. We will provide another update around 10:45PM.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 6:15PM: Desire2Learn services remain unavailable. There have been additional diagnostics tools put in place and work towards a resolution continues.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 3:45PM: Desire2Learn services remain unavailable. Vendor engineers are engaged, and continue to work towards a resolution.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 2:00PM: Desire2Learn services remain unavailable. High priority tickets are open with vendors and all necessary technologists at Learn@UW are actively working to resolve the issue.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 11:45AM: Desire2Learn services remain unavailable. Intensive investigation is in progress and Desire2Learn vendor support resources are fully engaged.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 10:30AM: Desire2Learn is currently unavailable to allow for additional investigation to proceed.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 9:45AM: Learn@UW is continuing to investigate the root cause of the problem. Users will continue to experience slow response times and Internal Errors when accessing the server.
UPDATE Wednesday 4/27 8:15AM: Users may experience slowness or error messages while logging into D2L. The issue has been reported to Learn@UW, and technicians are actively working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
UPDATE Tuesday 4/26 8:07PM: Users are still reporting issues with using Discussion Statistics. Learn@UW is still working with D2L to diagnose and correct this issue as soon as possible.
UPDATE Tuesday 4/26 8:40AM: The initial issues impacting D2L appear to be resolved, but users may still experience errors when accessing some tools including Discussion Statistics at the Forum level. The workaround for this error is to review Discussion statistics at the topic level.
UPDATE Monday 4/25 6:33PM: Learn@UW technicians are still working to correct the issues impacting D2L. They are, however, making more progress though users may still experience issues.

Hey everyone!
The end of the semester is coming to an end and many of us are scrambling to collect all the work that we have done over the course of the semester! The D2L ePortfolio is a tool which allows you to collect a number of artifacts and resources into one spot where you can easily view and manage them all.
To access your ePortfolio, go to the right hand side of your D2L homepage and clicks on Tools and then select ePortfolio. From there, you’ll be brought to your ePortfolio home page.
On your home page, you have a number of different resources, including a feed which shows you the resources that you’ve updated, worked on, or have been shared with you from other people. You can also Add files and Add links from this page.
Under My Items, you see a list of the objects you’ve created within your ePortfolio. To view them, simply click on the desired artifact, or you can click on the drop down arrow at the end of their name where you can view them, edit them, copy them, share them, delete them, and add them to presentations or collections.
Under the Explore tab, we can see the artifacts that have been shared with us from other people.
Lastly, under the Sharing Groups tab, you can create a sharing group which allows you to easily share things with multiple people without having to individually add each one. This allows sharing to be much more easy, quick and convenient .
