Update: The issue was resolved at about 6:00 pm Sunday, Dec 11th.
Starting at approximately 3:02 PM (CST), users are reporting errors while trying to log in or access D2L. We’re reporting the issue to Learn@UW and will be updating this news item with more information as we receive it. Thank you for your patience.
On November 17th from approximately 9:30 PM to 9:46 PM (CST), there was a recurrence of the previous database server problems we had experienced earlier in the semester.
During the outage, however, Learn@UW was able to retrieve data that should help them better understand the issue and hopefully prevent it happening in the future. We will update with any additional information as we receive it. Thank you for your patience.
[ORIGINAL MESSAGE] At roughly 9:30pm on Thursday, November 17th we started receiving reports of “Server Errors” and login issues. At this time the system appears to be stable, but we will continue to monitor the situation and will post updated information as it is received.
Update: As of 9:10am iCIT Technicians have identified and resolved the issue.
We are currently aware that some users are having intermittent login issues with Desire2Learn. We are actively investigating the issue and will keep you updated.
Since the emergency maintenance to the database systems on Tuesday morning, we haven’t had a re-occurrence of the problem behavior we’ve experienced earlier. Based on this, Learn@UW is believes that the cause has been addressed.
As of now, the service is considered stable. The Learn@UW Utility will continue to monitor the situation and engage with Microsoft support as needed. Thank you for your patience during this time.
There have been several related service outages during this week that have affected access to D2L. Learn@UW is working with Desire2Learn Inc. and Microsoft database technicians to find the source of the outages and work towards a permanent solution. Until we receive official word from Learn@UW, the D2L service’s status is considered unstable.
