Learn@UW will be deploying a service pack to D2L on Friday, May 25th starting at 6:00 AM and ending at approximately 7:00 AM (CDT). During this timeframe, D2L will be available, but users may notice periods of slowness while working in D2L.

We’ve been made aware of an issue specifically with the Respondus LockDown browser (LDB) and Mac computers. Single-line text entry fields, such as login or short answer question fields, will appear “blacked out”. This makes the text entered into these fields unreadable.
A fix for LDB has been released to compensate for this bug. If you are using a personal Mac computer, you must install the latest version of LDB. This can be done by going through the following steps:

Tomorrow, April 6th, 2012, DoIT Streaming Media Services in Madison will be upgrading services. This will result in a short outage of streaming video playback within Desire2Learn from approximately 10am – 10:30am CDT.

Learn@UW needs to apply an emergency patch to their servers and will need to perform maintenance from approximately 6:00 to 6:30 AM (CDT) tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 14th.
During this time frame, D2L will be unavailable and you will not be able to log into D2L. Please plan your course work accordingly, and thank you for your patience.
Desire2Learn has identified the cause of the Turnitin issue that has been affecting some Turnitin-enabled Dropboxes. (See our previous blog post on this issue here.)
Although a permanent fix for this issue will not be released until a later date, Dropbox folders that are experiencing this issue can be corrected, and Desire2Learn has been reprocessing the submissions for those Dropboxes that were reported.
If you reported to UW-W D2L Support about your Turnitin Dropbox having this issue, you will be contacted separately about your affected Dropboxes. If you are experiencing this issue, please contact UW-W D2L Support so that we can work to have it corrected.

Some users have been reporting that Turnitin-enabled dropboxes have not been processing submissions and that the status for the submission remains at “In Progress” for an indefinite period of time without actually receiving a Plagiarism report.
This has been reported to Learn@UW and Desire2Learn, and their technicians are currently working on a solution. At the moment, if you have a dropbox that is experiencing this, please contact UW-W D2L Support with information on the course and dropbox folder so that we can continue to report these incidences to Learn@UW.
We will be notifying any instructors who contact us once the issue has been resolved, but please keep in mind that we have not been given a firm date or time as to when this will be fixed.
From approximately 12:45pm to 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 1st the UW-W Campus Webpage, including the D2L login page, were inaccessible. At this time the problem has been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

From approximately 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM (CST) this morning, users trying to log in from off campus were experiencing errors. This has been corrected and all users should be able to log in to D2L.

This is a reminder that Desire2Learn is scheduled for an upgrade to version 9.4.1. The upgrade outage will start on Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 at 9:30 PM (CST) and end on Thursday, January 12th, 2012 at 10:30 AM (CST). During this timeframe, D2L will not be available. There will be scheduled network maintenance occurring between 12:01 AM and 8:00 AM on Sunday, January 8th (CST). While the maintenance is in progress, D2L may become inaccessible, so please plan your coursework accordingly.
Because of the outage and downtime, integration between WINS and D2L will be suspended Sunday and Monday night. Any courses requested or enrollment changes that happen starting on Saturday morning will be in queue for processing on Tuesday. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
