Turnitin Service Outage (3/5)

Turnitin services, including Originality Check, Peermark, and Grademark, may be unavailable during a scheduled maintenance period on Saturday, March 5th, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (CT).

During this outage window, students should not submit files to a Dropbox folder that has Turnitin enabled, and instructors should not create new Dropbox folders with Turnitin enabled.

Instructors are encouraged to modify assignment due dates either before or at least several hours after the scheduled maintenance window. If possible, it’s also advised that instructors change the end date on all Dropbox folders that are utilizing Turnitin so that students won’t inadvertently submit during the outage window.

Please note, any Dropbox folders in a D2L course that are currently NOT utilizing the Turnitin Originality Check, ending before the outage window, or starting after the outage window do NOT have to be altered.

Planned Campus Network Outage – 2/24

ICIT has scheduled network maintenance for the entire UW-Whitewater network on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4:30 to 6:30 AM. During this timeframe the Desire2Learn service will NOT be available.

[RESOLVED] Error Message in D2L Document Viewer

RESOLVED: The D2L Document Viewer should now be functioning correctly. Users should no longer receive encounter any issues with viewing course documents or accessing Dropbox folder submissions. Any questions or concerns should be sent to UW-W Desire2Learn Support.

There is a known issue where users may encounter an error message when viewing course documents in the document viewer in D2L. The document viewer is found in the Content and Dropbox tools. This issue does not impact the original file.

The current workaround for any errors in the document viewer is to download the file from the toolbar under the viewer window.

This issue has been reported to D2L, and technicians are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We will post additional updates as they are received.

RESOLVED: Turnitin Service Disruption (1/22)

The Turnitin service is now available. The service was unavailable between 8:20am and 11:45am on Friday, January 22, 2016.

The Turnitin service is currently experiencing an intermittent service disruption. Originality Check, Grademark and Peermark may be currently inaccessible. The issue started around 8:20am on Friday, January 22, 2016. The vendor is working to resolve the issue. We will post additional updates as they are received.

[RESOLVED] D2L Service Issues 6/19

Between roughly 5:00pm and 5:30pm on Friday, June 19, 2015, users may have received errors while trying to access or login to Desire2Learn. As of 5:30pm on Friday, June 19, technicians corrected the issue and normal operation of the service was restored.

[RESOLVED] D2L Login Issues – 5/11 & 5/12

Between 5:00pm and 6:20pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, users may have received a “compilation error” when trying to load the Desire2Learn login page. The issue only impacted the Desire2Learn login process, and not the actual service.

Between 4:50pm and 5:37pm on Monday, May 11th, 2015, users may have received a “compilation error” when trying to load the Desire2Learn login page. The issue only impacted the Desire2Learn login process, and not the actual service.

D2L Server Maintenance (9/11)

Learn@UW has scheduled server maintenance for the UW System tomorrow, Thursday, September 11th from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM (CT).

During this timeframe, the Desire2Learn service will not be available. Please plan your course work accordingly.

Network Storage Maintenance (6/29)

On Sunday, June 29th, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, ICIT will be performing necessary system maintenance to network file storage, including Stori, faculty, staff, and student websites. D2L will be available during this maintenance. However, this outage may affect any courses that have items, such as Content links, that link out to any of these storage solutions.
