To Mirandize or Not
So the Boston bombers are allegedly in custody. So what’s up with this Miranda warning stuff? Shouldn’t we mirandize the remaining bomber? Some believe we don’t need to. Check out this VIDEO and give me your thoughts.

All this about the boston bomber is getting to a point where they have him in custody so why not question him and out him in jail. it seems like the police do not want to arrest him and it is not right because he is not being treated like an american suspect. i just want whoever did it to go to jail and get justice for those who lost their lives and those who were injured.
Firstly, I want to ask, how do we know (other then the news, which isn’t always accurate) that he wasn’t given his Miranda rights? Even if he wasn’t I think there are bigger things to worry about, like public safety before we should worry about his rights. The police need information from him in regards to other possible suspects, motivations behind the attack, etc. and they need it fast. I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t mirandize him. Given the nature of the attacks, I would classify him as an enemy of the state and need to mirandize him. I would have the same opinion if this was a person who was born in the United States and born a US citizen. The video talked about any information he gives can’t be used against him in court, until he is mirandized, but no jury in this country won’t not convict him guilty. So whether he gets mirandized or not is kind of a moot point to me.
I think the bomber should get mirandized because if he answers any questions without being read is miranda rights, they are not admissible in court. The bombers were obviously intelligent enough to plan this attack so they will be intelligent enough to play the system. If they don’t get read their miranda rights, they will talk and answer any questions given to them because they know that it can’t be used in court or against them. The police should mirandize him and treat him like any other criminal in the criminal justice system. Although there could be, and there is, evidence against him that can be used in court without needing his statement, we mind as well read him his rights just so there is enough proof with the evidence to convict him.
I believe at this point that the bomber should be read his Miranda rights. This is because at this time if he has not been read his rights, he could leave after the 48 hours of being in custody. The public is not going to feel very safe if this guy is released to the streets again. Reading him his Miranda rights ensures that the police can keep him in custody after the 48 hours of investigation. He then, has a right to remain silent which he would probably do even if he was not read his Miranda rights and anything he said could be used against him in court which is also helpful. He should be treated like a U.S. citizen if he, in fact, is one. Either way the bomber is going to be hard-pressed to get out of this crime.
