Denny’s

8:21 pm Food

America’s Diner. You can always count Denny’s to be open on those late nights or early mornings. Let’s see how their Children’s menu holds up.

Let’s see what was included:

  • 2 chicken tenders
  • Choice of side
    • Wavy cut fries
    • Grapes
    • 2 sausage links/2 bacon strips/2 turkey bacon strips
    • 1 egg
    • Goldfish crackers
    • Hash browns
    • Banana slices
    • Salad
    • Red-skinned mashed potatoes
    • Broccoli
    • 3 buttermilk silver dollar pancakes
    • Apple dunkers with caramel
  • Dipping Sauce

Score: 8/10

Price

The price came out to 4.99 before tax and tip. I think the choices of side, along with the size of the tenders is a really good price. You could also add another chicken tender for $0.99.

Score: 9/10

Size Portions

These chicken tenders were the normal size, if not a bit bigger than the usual. These tenders would fill up a regular to smaller stomach, just from the tenders alone. There is still the decent sized side that is included.

Score: 8/10

Dipping Sauces

The choices of dipping sauces included:

  • BBQ
  • Honey Mustard
  • Ranch

These are the basics to offer, which isn’t too bad. Their ranch was savory and garlicky. It wasn’t too thick to where it would be too much, and not too thin where it wouldn’t stick to the breading. I love their ranch; it really compliments the chicken.

Score: 8/10

Taste

The breading of the chicken tenders were very airy and crispy, and had a tasteful, slight pepper aspect. The chicken itself was the perfect balance of greasy and juicy. There wasn’t too much breading overpowering the chicken nor vice versa. I got the wavy cut fries, and there’s not much you can mess up– they were decent.

You definitely can’t go too wrong with chicken tenders, especially with that price. They have a relatively long list for their sides, but I’ve never seen Goldfish crackers as a side at a restaurant. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Auburn, I haven’t ever had Denny’s chicken tenders. In fact, I haven’t really been to a Denny’s in years. That’s not to say the restaurant is bad or anything, it’s just been a while since I’ve been to one. I was kind of hoping to see a review on more than one dish from multiple different restaurants. Other than that, I enjoyed the post. It has a really friendly and inviting feel.

I love Denny’s! I’ve only ever gotten breakfast food there, but after seeing your review of the chicken tenders I might have to try those for my next Denny’s trip. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have never been to Dennys until this year right before school started and I honestly judge them because I just thought it was a crap version of breakfast food until my friends convinced me to go after a wedding reception with them and the chocolate shakes are one of the best chocolate shakes I’ve ever had! Worth it!

I have only been to Denny’s a few times when I was younger! I do not remember what I got, so I will have to go back soon to try out these tenders!

Not what I think of when I hear Dennys but its really cool to see things you might not think about ordering from places you eat at all the time. Those tenders do look and sound really good so maybe I will have to try them.
