“Fire Nagy!” The Chant Heard Around the World.

“Fire Nagy!” — Chicago sports fans continue to express their displeasure with Bears coach Matt Nagy at games — regardless of the sport and venue. Bears fans unleashed the chant during the Week 11 loss to the Baltimore Ravens — the Bears’ fifth straight before a Thanksgiving win against the Detroit Lions. The chant has echoed at just about every Chicago sporting event that has taken place since they’ve begun. Fans have even started chanting “Hire Nagy!”

The “Fire Nagy!” chant will most likely continue Sunday at Soldier Field if the Bears can’t keep up with the 9-2 Arizona Cardinals. The frustration, longtime Bears fans have been going through this for a long, long time, so I understand it, but it’s not helping the situation. I feel like it’s just making it worse. Although I personally would like Nagy to be gone, we’re still human, and not many people want to be booed at their jobs. It’s just another thing the Bears have to tune out as they try to focus on their final six games — and the uncertainty of the organization’s leadership after that.

Like most scenarios, coaches always do a good job at showing resilience and blocking out ongoing job speculation. I feel like it’s got to be tough, but for him to come in and still lead the Bears and not show any signs of weakness or letting that affect him, that says a lot about him and his character. I feel like it’s tough, but he’s handled this situation very well.

Can the Chicago Bears upset the Baltimore Ravens?

In 5 days the Chicago Bears will host the Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens at Soldier Field at noon. Do the Bears have enough strength and will-power to put up a fight against and keep Lamar Jackson from running circles around the defense?

It is very likely that the Chicago Bears can potentially win this game which will relieve any stress and disappointment for Bears fans across the nation. The Bears had a bye week this past week to practice and get healthy again. Although they got their butts kicked 3 games straight, I believe that they have learned for all of those games and have created plays that will benefit not only the team as whole, but give Justin Fields a better chance of executing plays that will work in their favor.

However, there is the other deciding factor of how the game can turn out and that is if the defense can keep Lamar Jackson from running all over the defense. Luckily, Eddie Goldman has returned and will be a huge playmaker for the defense this week alongside Hicks and Mack two other star defensive players for the Bears. If the defense can make turnovers and prevent 3rd/4th down conversions and make the Ravens pun the ball they will have a good shot at winning this game.

Why can’t we just be GOOD?

Am I at this point where I do not feel confident that the Chicago Bears will make the NFL playoffs this year. This is a common statement amongst most Bears fans every single year; we find ourselves barely making it into the playoffs only to get steamrolled by a way better team.

I understand that the Bear’s back-to-back-to-back losses have been against good teams, but it is embarrassing watching them just absolutely shamed by blowouts. The Bears cannot get a break. They play the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday Night at 7:15 and I am expecting an early lead, only for them to find a way to screw it all up in the 4th quarter. After Monday’s game, they will finally have a bye week that they will use to their advantage in terms of making sure everyone is healed up and healthy for the second half of the season. Their next four games after their bye week are against the Ravens, Lions, Cardinals, and Packers all of which will more than likely end with the Bears’ only victory being against the Detroit Lions.

Being born and raised a Chicago Bears fan, I am just patiently waiting for them to be good again, but until then I am just disappointed.

Chicago Bears Get Destroyed By Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the perfect definition of the Chicago Bears football franchise. I am embarrassed calling myself a Chicago Bears fan. After winning the coin toss, and electing to receive the ball, the Buccaneers made quick work of getting the Bears offense off the field, forcing a three-and-out. This game was decided in the first 2 minutes of play. Not to mention that Justin Fields threw three interceptions and committed five turnovers. I understand he’s a rookie, and the offensive line is horrendous to watch, which does not help Justin improve his abilities as starting QB.

Every mistake the Bears made Sunday, the Buccaneers capitalized on. I do not understand how you can just make so many mistakes in the first half of play. And with all these mistakes the offense made really screwed over the defense performance who found themselves not getting a break and being worn down by Tom Brady and the Buccaneers offense.

Don’t let the Chicago Bears embarrassing 38-3 loss to Tampa distract you from the fact that my group and I will be covering Saturday’s homecoming football game at Perkins Stadium vs. UWEC. Be sure to check out Twitter.com/mblake99 for pre-game news and coverage during the event!

Will the Bears sink the Bucs or will they drown?

This Sunday, October 24th, the Chicago Bears travel down to Tampa, Florida, to face-off against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers for the second consecutive year.

The Bears finally figured out that running the ball is the only way they are keeping up with teams this season. The Buccaneers have allowed the fewest rushing yards this season, which means both O-line & Justin Fields need to have a big game and perform under the immense pressure in the Florida heat. This will force the Bears to throw the ball more than they would probably like to. Not to mention, the Bears are in the Top 3 for rushing yards, but if Tampa takes the passing game away and stops the run it’s over.

Already this season, the Bears have played three really good teams, the Rams and Browns, which were both away, and most recently the Packers which was Sunday. However, the Bears did beat both the Las Vegas Raiders and the Cincinnati Bengals of whom both have winning records. Before this season, the last time they beat a good team was their win over the Bucs about a year ago, but that was a case of catching them at the right time. The Buccaneers were on a short rest/travel week last year – and Tom Brady was still getting used to the Buccaneer’s offense when they lost at Soldier Field.

But unfortunately, the defending champs will be rested and with them playing at home, they will most likely steamroll the Bears.

After Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions, the Chicago Bears head coach informed Fields that he would become the team’s starting quarterback moving forward over Andy Dalton who was the original first string but was hurt Week 1 due to a left knee injury.

Instead of celebrating, Justin Fields chose to stay in and watch film on games to continue growing and to get good wins on Sundays. It’s moments like these that Fields is taking to being the Bears franchise quarterback. After throwing for 209 yards in a 24-14 victory at Soldier Field, Nagy spoke on Monday that when healthy, Dalton will take back over as starting quarterback, but after long talks with his coaching staff and Fields continuing to show growth and improvement since being drafted, he made the decision to give Fields the starting job.

So far this season, Fields has completed 25 of 52 passes for 347 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. He has had 17 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. He has been sacked 12 times, nine of which came in from Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns.

There is definitely going to be a learning curve for sure. But Justin will have both Dalton and Foles along with his coaches to help adjust to changes and new offense schemes. This week the Bears head to Paradise, Nevada to face off against the Raiders which is going to be one of the hardest opponents they will play this season, but Justin Fields has worked really hard to get to this point and no matter the outcome of Sunday’s games, he’s ready for this opportunity.

Justin Fields will get his first NFL career start against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.

After the Chicago Bears defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 20-17, head coach Matt Nagy announced that Justin Fields will be the starting QB going into the third week of the season vs. the Browns in Cleveland.

With Andy Dalton hurt due to a left knee injury, this gives Justin Fields the opportunity he has been dying to achieve and to show the fans that he is not bust but rather a QB who will put in every ounce of effort to prove himself as a good quarterback. Now, with not much playing it is expected that Fields’ will have a bit of a struggle when moved into the starting job and the games that come afterward.

Once Fields plays, adjusts to the offense, and gains more experience overall he will quickly adapt to the role of starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears. Everyone knows that this is the moment all Chicago Bears fans have been waiting for is Justin Fields finally getting his first career start. Even if the Bears lose on Sunday to the Browns, hopefully, they see Fields’ work ethic and potential and continue making him starting quarterback for the remainder of the season regardless if Andy Dalton returns.
