This week I am going to be talking about The Community Center within the game of Stardew Valley. This topic within the game is one of my favorites! This aspect of the game makes me determined to explore the game more and unlock new things within the game. I will be going over what The Community Center is, the different tasks to perform within it, and the different items and areas you can unlock within the game by completing the tasks.

What is The Community Center?

In the north part of Pelican Town, you can find an old run-down building. This building is what is known as The Community Center. It used to be a lively building where the community would gather, but when you first start the game, it’s just an abandoned building.

The Run Down Community Center

You will first gain access to the Community Center after the 5th day of spring. You must enter Pelican Town from the bus stop between 8AM and 1PM on a day it is not raining. When you do you will get a cut scene that shows you and Lewis in front of the abandoned building. Lewis unlocks the Community Center and the two of you enter. When you are looking around the building you spot these strange creatures. These little guys are called Junimos! They are forest spirits that have made the broken-down Community Center their home. Even though you see these little guys, they disappear before Lewis can see them. He says it is probably just rats and he leaves the Community Center unlocked for you to solve the “rat problem” (this will appear as a quest for you).

After your first time within the Community Center, when you re-enter, you will find a golden scroll (which is in the left lower room). When you read the scroll you cannot comprehend the language that is on it. The next day, you will receive a letter from the wizard that tells you to visit him. Once arriving at his place, he will give you a potion that allows you to read the mysterious language of the Junimos on the scroll. Now that you are able to read the scrolls within the Community Center, you find the scrolls ask for specific offerings in the form of bundles.

The Task At Hand: Completing Bundles

Completing bundles for these little spirits might seem silly, but you get great rewards from them. When you finish small segments of bundles, the Junimos will give you items as gifts. However, when you finish a full bundle, that night the Junimos will go out and fix something within the community that either helps you within the game or lets you advance to different locations within the game.

The Different Bundles

Within the Community Center, there are 6 different rooms containing 6 different scrolls that request offerings for bundles. The six different rooms/bundles available are the crafts room, pantry, fish tank, boiler room, bulletin board, and vault. Each bundle requests certain items that are unique for that room. For example, the pantry requests different produce/food items for different seasons. Now I will go through the different bundles and what is requested.

The Crafts Room

The Crafts Room requests foraging items for four different season bundles (spring, summer, fall, and winter) and an additional construction and exotic foraging bundle. The spring bundle asks for four forageable items that can be found in the spring. These items are wild horseradish, daffodil, leek, and dandelion. Once adding all of these items to the bundle, you will be rewarded 30 spring seeds. These seeds grow these forageable items when planted.

The Spring Bundle Items, Location of Items, and Rewards

The next bundle is the Summer bundle. This bundle asks for 3 forageable items that can be found during the summer. The three items are grape, spice berry, and sweet pea. Once adding all these items to the bundle, you will be gifted 30 summer seeds, which grow the summer forage items.

The Sumer Bundle Items, Location of Items, and Rewards

The third bundle out of the four is the fall bundle. The bundle asks you for four different forageable items, the common mushroom, wild plum, hazelnut, and blackberry. Once completing the bundle you will be gifted fall seeds.

The last season bundle is the winter bundle. This bundle asks you for the four forageable items within the season which are winter root, crystal fruit, snow yam, and crocus. Like all of the other bundles, you will receive 30 winter seeds once you complete the bundle.

The Winter Bundle Items, Location of Items, and Rewards

The construction bundle requests items that can be found in nature that are used to construct buildings and other items. The three items you need are wood (198 pieces), stone (99 pieces), and hardwood 910 pieces). Once you complete the bundle you will be given a charcoal kiln, which turns wood into charcoal.

Once completing this bundle you will be gifted with five things o autumn’s bounty, which gives you buffs for foraging and defense.

The next set of bundles come from the pantry room. The different bundles within this room are crop bundles for each season (except winter), the quality crop bundle, the animal bundle, and the artisan bundle.

What Happens When you Complete All Bundles?

These next two sections have spoilers related to some of the storylines of the game. If you are truly curious about what happens continue reading. However, if you want to experience the completion of the bundles your self I suggest you skip the next two paragraphs

You may be wondering, what happens when I finish all these bundles. Well, there are a couple of things that happen. First, the community center is completely restored. You will also say good buy to the Junimos as they return to the spirit world. As the villagers come back to the new community center, you are also granted the Stardew hero award as a thank you. The rise of the Community Center also results in the fall of Joja mart. After the restoration of the Community Center, if you go to Joja Mart you will see that it is closed for good.
