Tip 10: Give Back To Subscribers

Hello everyone! This is our last tip before we do a final check in next week. I don’t know if I’ll reach my goal, but I have enjoyed every minute of streaming. This last tip happens to be my favorite, so I am excited to talk about it today. The last tip is to give back to your subscribers! You can do this by playing games with them, giving shout outs, or letting them pick what games you play. Though these gestures may seem small, they show that you care about what your audience thinks and enjoys! One of my favorite streamers, Maddynf, has always done streams where she plays…

    TIP 9: Streaming Buddy

Hello everyone, For todays tips we will be talking about the importance of gaming buddies. In the streaming world and video games alike, it’s often more fun to play with friends then it is to play alone. Making friends with other streamers can help elevate your game play and limit any awkward silences. Gaming with someone else can also make the viewers feel as if they’re playing with their friends two. This is an excellent way to up your user interactivity and keep your game plays more interesting. Making friends with other streamers also opens doors to being more exposed to other viewers. I know that I have found some…

    TIP 8: Update Stream Setup

Hi everyone, In the world of streaming it’s easy to feel as if you can’t start streaming until you’ve saved hundreds of dollars to buy expensive equipment. However, that is not the case. What I have planned to do and have found that others suggest is to update your stream setup as time goes on. For instance, there is no need for me to own the best streaming camera available as I simply can not afford that. I started off with my internal laptop’s camera and then worked my way up to an external camera I bought off amazon once I started streaming more. Full time streamers often also only…

    TIP 7: PROMOTION

Hey everyone! Today we will be talking about promotion. Promoting your stream is probably one of the scariest steps and most crucial steps. The best way to get your twitch account noticed is to promote it on Instagram, twitter, and what every other platforms you use. This can be intimidating to newer streamers because maybe you don’t want some people in your life to find your stream. However, promoting your account will make a difference. I’ve noticed the days that I mention me streaming are the days that I get more viewers and more followers. This could be because my friends want to support me, or maybe just some people…

    Check-In

Today’s post is focusing on looking at my progress from implementing the tips I’ve researched. While this is a shorter post, it’s important to look at the progress you’ve made and see what you could improve on. Today I stand at 16 followers on Twitch. While this may not seem like a lot, I’m still happy to see minimal growth. I have had a hard time balancing school, work, and streaming, so any change is welcomed. For this second half of the journey I will be pushing myself to stick to my schedule and making sure that I do in fact take the time to stream once a week. Thank…

    TIP 6: Interaction

Hi everyone, Today we’ll be discussing how important interaction with your viewers is. Though we have discussed this a little bit in the past, I thought that this topic needed it’s own post. When you watch streamers or when you yourself are streaming, it’s important to keep up the interaction and make sure that your stream is entertaining for everyone involved. One of the comments I receive often is “I like to watch small streamers like you because you actually talk to us.” Your viewers want to feel connected to you and want to feel like they matter to you. Often times your viewers will begin to think of you…

    TIP 5: CONSISTENCY

Hi again, Today I’ll be telling you guys about tip 5. Numerous streamers have attributed this tip to their success in turning streaming into their career. The best way to gain a following is to be a consistent streamer. A lot of first time streamers start out thinking the best way to gain a following is to stream for hours at a time. I will often stumble upon new streamers that stream for 5+ hours and are upset that there are few viewers. Most people do not want to watch long streams because they have other things going on in their own lives too. Viewers may have school, jobs, or…

TIP 4: SET UP STREAMING PLATFORM

Hi again! Now that we’ve laid down a basis for streaming research, its time to actually set up the stream! My best advice that I can give is to look at other peoples streaming setups and see which one aligns with your aesthetic! When it comes to setting up your stream, you want everything to stand out and represent you. For instance, a friend made my profile picture and banner which has brought more people to look at my stream. This picture makes my stream look more professional and helps bring people in. Another thing that can be helpful when designing your stream layout is picking a color scheme! My…

Tip 3: Find Streams You Enjoy

Hello, Streaming is fun to do and fun to watch! You not only get to practice your skills when your playing games but also by watching streams. When you watch other people stream, you get a sense of how they carry on their stream which can help you decide what you like and dislike. Some streamers aren’t as conversational which makes it hard for them to grow a following. When streamers talk with their viewers they make connections with them and make the viewers want to stay. However, sometimes it’s hard to find where to start a conversation, so watching how other people converse with their audience is a great…
