Everything In Moderation

Everything In Moderation

With the holidays coming up the first thing that usually comes to people’s minds is family.
However, the second thing people think of is all of the amazing food you get to eat.
Thanksgiving is known for its heavy and delicious foods such as turkey, mashed potatoes, and
stuffing. December has a handful of holidays with foods of its own. I know I personally tend to
overeat at family events because there is just so much amazing food. It is important to remind
yourself that it is okay to eat what you want when you want, especially during times like these.
Whatever you may eat on these special days, if you are worried about your health and fitness
journey, remember moderation is key. In today’s blog we are going to talk about how to eat in
moderation and the benefits it can have for your health.

Benefits of Eating in Moderation:

  • Helps to avoid excessive consumption
    • As the title says, moderation is key. The most obvious part about this statement
is that it helps to avoid excessive consumption. I know when I eat I always feel
the need to keep eating until I am completely full. However, the feeling of being
full often is too much. Your body can be satisfied without having to feel full, which
can lead to stomach aches and pains.

  • Helps with weight control
    • Knowing when to stop eating is always a great way to help with weight loss and
weight control. It is important to listen to your body. When you feel content and
satisfied with your eating experience that is when you know you can stop
consuming. Your body knows what is a good amount of food. All you have to do
is listen to it! This will go hand in hand with weight loss.
  • Helps to avoid high cholesterol
    • One of the great health benefits of eating in moderation is the power to avoid
high cholesterol. Of course cholesterol levels can be hereditary, but there are
ways you can improve it. One of these ways is to eat in moderation.

Remember that nutritional needs are unique to each individual. This means that you
need to decide what moderation means to you. A moderate meal to one individual might not be
enough food for another individual. Taking inventory of your eating habits can help you to reach
your fitness goals even quicker than expected. For more information that can help you with
