TIP 6: Interaction

Hi everyone,

Today we’ll be discussing how important interaction with your viewers is. Though we have discussed this a little bit in the past, I thought that this topic needed it’s own post.

When you watch streamers or when you yourself are streaming, it’s important to keep up the interaction and make sure that your stream is entertaining for everyone involved. One of the comments I receive often is “I like to watch small streamers like you because you actually talk to us.” Your viewers want to feel connected to you and want to feel like they matter to you. Often times your viewers will begin to think of you as their friend and this is so special!

Streaming is not about gaining popularity but about gaining friends and building connections with people that have similar interests to you. The best way to personally connect and retain viewers is to talk with them, ask them questions, and check-in with them.

STEP 1: Ask your viewers questions or tell stories! ( even if they’re to shy to respond they’ll be happy you check-in and want to keep tuning in!)

STEP 2: Check-in with the viewers that tune in more than once. Ask about their favorite movies, how school or work is going, make them feel appreciated and rememberred.

STEP 3: Make sure your stream is a safe place for everyone! Toxic streamers = toxic viewers.

I hope this post was helpful and I hope everyone keeps these tips in mind if they decide to stream too!

Happy Streaming!

I agree, viewer interaction and engagement is another key to becoming a successful streamer. Something I’ve found is that streamers who start out small tend to have better interactivity with their chats in the long term. Sometimes when you make it big, you kinda forget to thank the people who helped get you there. However, that isn’t always the case.

Even though I do not stream myself, I completely agree that interaction is one of the most important things to keep on top of. As a viewer, I love when streamers take the time to talk to you or simply telling stories to make the stream more interactive. I feel as streamers get more and more views it can become harder to interact. However, telling stories or even selecting viewers from time to time to either play a game or do an activity with them would be a great way to keep interaction up. It is a shame that a lot of people go into streaming to just get views, but there are a lot of good streamers out there that stream to build relationships and communities.

This is actually something I feel like people starting out get ot benefit more from. Getting to know the frequents in your lobby is actually really great way to build a “family” of sorts.
