After living in Whitewater for two years, I’ve slowly been discovering new places that I didn’t know about when I first started my freshman year here. Maybe you’ve been to these places, but my hope is that the hidden gems I’ve found are hidden gems to you as well!
Casual Joe’s
Casual Joe’s is a restaurant located on the other side of the train tracks from downtown. It’s located next to Cravath Lake. This big, red restaurant offers classic barbeque for a great price. Anything you order will be good, but the mac n cheese smash bowls are the best. Casual Joe’s also has weekly buffets for $10.99 with free entertainment to follow.
The Thrift Shoppe
This little thrift shop is located on Church Street, right off of Main Street. They have everything, clothes, shoes, kitchenware, furniture, and even bikes! Everything here, since it is a thrift store is very affordable, I’ve gotten t-shirts for a quarter and jackets for a dollar! Plus, it’s always fun to search through the racks, because you never know what you’re going to find!
Cravath Lake Front’s Gazebo
Along the lakefront of Cravath Lake, across the street from downtown Whitewater, there is a beautiful gazebo that overlooks the water, I found that this is a great quiet place to study or just sit and enjoy the lake and scenery!
I hope some of these places are new to you and with the second semester quickly approaching, you are able to enjoy them like I do!
