Netflix & Chill

A movie night has always been an option in my books for a date night. You have dinner and watch a movie after – It’s the perfect way to spend a night with your boyfriend/girlfriend. The only problem is what do you watch?? There are so many different movies on Netflix that sometimes, you just can’t decide together on a happy medium. A few choices that I have seen and am recommending with maybe help you both decide what to watch on a night in.   The Classic – “Tommy Boy” “Tommy Boy” stars Chris Farley from Saturday Night Life.. What information do you need? Tommy and Richard, two characters that we have learned and grow to love from the movie “Tommy Boy”. It’s the perfect classic movie for any night in, depending on your humor. It’s a stupid humor with a hint of drama just to keep you engaged. It’s one of my all time favorite movie classics that shares a story about friendship, family and love. It’s a happy medium for you and your boyfriend because although it’s not a complete romance movie, it’s about the humorous adventure the character’s share. But what’s a humorous movie with a little romance, right?     The Romance – “Leap Year” “Leap Year” is a romance movie that I highly recommend to anyone searching on Netflix for a heart-warming love story. Not only is it romantic, there’s also a lot of smart-ass remarks from both the main characters, which will make it fun for YOU both to laugh about! Fate has brought these two characters together, and their adventure is...

Game On – Whitewater

If you and your significant other are tired of having the same routine each night, are competitive and want to mix it up a bit, this post is the perfect read. Being in a relationship causes you to see how each other acts in certain situations, such as sports. They, or you may be competitive and take a sport very seriously, whether you are playing the game or just watching it. In Whitewater, there is always a sporting event or activity happening each week/weekend. For this season, there is la-crosse, football, volleyball, basketball, soccer and many more. Football so far has been the one with the most attendance due to having the tailgates. An idea for a Saturday home game would be to have you and your boyfriend/girlfriend tailgate and cook out with friends and family. It’s a great way to meet everyone if you have not yet met all of their friends, or just an excuse to take a homework break and hang out with friends. If you enjoy other sports and want to check out the schedule of when games are happening and where at, you can visit the UW-Whitewater Athletics page! Another great activity you guys can do together is to join an intramural team. Intramurals are a great way to get to know each other and see how you guys are in a competitive environment. Do they cheer you on? Or do they get mad if you make a small mistake and react in a way you shouldn’t. If you’re still getting to know the person, this is a great way to see a different...

Game On – Madison & Milwaukee

Whitewater has a great sports program, a loud crowd to get you rowdy and tasty food, but heading out of town to get away from the school that causes some stress is a great way for the both of you to finally relax and enjoy yourselves at a sporting event outside of Whitewater. The two places that I have experienced sporting events at so far and grew up visiting are Madison and Milwaukee. The two closest, large cities near Whitewater! Madison is the first city you should visit for a night on the town and attending a UW-Madison sporting event. I have been to UW – Madison football games, basketball games and hockey games and have not had one bad experience from any of them. The crowd goes crazy for Wisconsin sports and enjoying that atmosphere together, really sparks an interest in the joy of others and the joy of being with each other. For football games, you can tailgate with family and friends and cook out, or you can head to State St. State St. is a beautiful place to head to before or after a game! It’s right near the capital and has a great view of the lake. Heading to a new restaurant could possibly be your new go to spot when heading to Madison or a bar that you guys visit could have a drink that you have never had before! It’s definitely an adventure when you head to Madison for the day or weekend. Milwaukee has beer, baseball and basketball, what more can you ask for! Milwaukee is another great city to visit for...

Fall Date Ideas For You & Your Boo

The season that we all have been waiting for is finally here! Fall is the kind of weather you that allows you to finally curl up by a fire with your boo, watch scary movies and eat as many apple cider donuts as you can in one sitting – because really, who can resist those delicious pastries. As many of you would probably rather eat all the donuts inside, there are so many fall activities outside of Whitewater you probably didn’t know existed. Here are a few ideas of you and your pumpkin can do during the fall season The first idea would be to attend pumpkin patches/ apple orchards. Skelly’s Farmers Market, located in Janesville, is the most popular pumpkin farm in the Rock County area. This farm offers many activities, including corn mazes, pumpkin picking, wagon rides around the farm and a great scenery for fall photos with your significant other. As for food, they offer warm pumpkin and cider donuts, caramel apples, hot cider and many, many more! You can learn more about Skelly’s Farmers Market by visiting their official website. Another place to visit that is just 20 minutes from the town of Whitewater is the newly built apple orchard, Hawk’s Orchard located on the outskirts of Milton. This year is their first year baking and selling apple cider donuts and let me tell ya, they are to die for! This cute apple orchard is the perfect place to head to on a chilly Sunday to pick up some apples from the trees and enjoy some warm donuts taken freshly from the oven. For more...
