    Time Management

As a college student, time management is essential in functioning to your fullest potential. For example, if your time management skills are weak, your education, extra circulars, and employment are near impossible to balance. Personally, time management has taken years for me to perfect. However, I want to share a couple of tips that have helped me best manage my time. 1. Set Goals Yes, I know it sounds broad, but it is very beneficial. The first step is to set goals, big or small. Each week, I set goals for myself. Typically, on Sundays, I focus on homework assignments, upcoming exams, laundry, or other tasks I want to complete…

    Budgeting

Budgeting, as a college student, is an art within itself. How are we supposed to live on our own, have our own freedom, AND manage our wallets? Here are some tips that help me budget and stick with it! 1. Make a Game Plan Especially for first-year students, it’s beneficial to sit down and create an overall plan for your finances. Study Tips

Studying for exams! The best part of college, right?! Wrong. For as long as I can remember, studying has been one of my greatest weaknesses. I do not focus after sitting at a desk for a long period of time, and I also am not a strong test taker. So, I really just dislike studying overall. However, I can say that I have self-taught myself how to properly study without totally hating it and without draining my brainpower. Generally, professors heavily weigh exams and quizzes in our overall grades. They are important! That means we have to, at least, adapt to study habits and create the best methods to be…

    Balancing Your Schedule

A large part of maintaining a balanced schedule involves an organized planner. However, there is much more to perfecting your daily schedule. Something I recently started using to help me manage my time is a block schedule. You know, the one we used in high school? Applying this method to each day of the week not only keeps me on track, but it motivates me to get up and start my day. I am definitely one who prefers getting work done in the morning, but not one who enjoys waking up early. Block scheduling my day has made such a difference on the time spent on school, work, and even…

    The Magic of Planners

Perfecting your organizational skills in college may be more challenging than expected. However, it is not impossible to master. Staying organized is more than just an aesthetic planner; it’s the key to grades and time management. Let me break down how my planner has helped me master organization as a college student. First, find yourself a planner. You might think, “Well, I don’t write in mine, so I never use it.” Let me tell you; there is a planner out there for everyone. Find one that works for you! I prefer larger planners. I like to have a lot of weekly and monthly space to write out all of my…
