Peanut Butter Apples
Who doesn’t love peanut butter? Growing up, we all had our PB&J’s for lunch, and always wanted to take the spoon right into the jar of peanut butter. As we grow older, we know that we need our daily protein, and this will help. Moving into my apartment this year with my vegan roommates, they were always trying to find alternatives to getting protein into their diets. We came up with a perfect snack that can be easily modified for your unique tastes. Our take on a quick, healthy snack is below.
1 granny smith apple-cut in slides
Peanut butter (crunchy or creamy)
Granola
Chocolate chips (milk or dark)
Coconut shredding
Slice your apple into 4-6 slices, spreading peanut butter on each. Add granola, chocolate chips and coconut for added flavor and nutrients. Don’t like one of the ingredients? Take it out! You can also add whatever you would like. We love this quick and easy snack alongside our lunch or right before bed.
