No Bake Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Sick of drinking the same old protein shake? When my roommates and I get back from the gym, we grab the protein powder and milk and drink it as fast as we can. But, what if there’s a better way to get that protein in

Peanut Butter Dip

Sometimes we all get sick of eating the same old foods. Each day, I find myself eating the same sandwich, apples, oranges, and vegetables. I always want to try something new, and came across this recipe at the beginning of the semester. Peanut butter dip

Puppy Chow

Puppy Chow

Who doesn’t love puppy chow? The easiness of grabbing it out of the bag and getting a mouthful of sugar, peanut butter and chocolate. There is NOTHING better! Over the years I have been trying to perfect this simple recipe with different techniques and different measurements of ingredients. I was sick of having some pieces with more of one thing, and some with less of another.

1 stick of salted butter

1 1/4 cup of creamy peanut butter

1 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 bag of rice chex cereal

Powdered sugar

First, melt the butter, peanut butter (line measuring up with plastic bag to make clean-up easier) and chocolate chips in a saucepan until combined. In a separate bowl, pour half of the bag of chex cereal, then pour half of mixture on top, and repeat. This way, it will be easier to stir and cover each piece of cereal with the peanut butter and chocolate mixture. Once mixed, grab a paper grocery bag and pour about 2 cups of powdered sugar to the bottom, pour half of the cereal on top, and repeat. Make sure the bag is completely closed and shake well. Add more powdered sugar until everything is evenly coated, this has to be done by eye. The end result should look like the image above. Once mixed and coated, place the puppy show in the fridge and let it cool. Enjoy!!

Scotcheroos

Scotcheroos

Ever have a moment during your day that you just want a little chocolate? I know I do. Scotcheroos are my go-to dessert! A mix of peanut butter, chocolate, butterscotch and rice krispies? What else does anyone need? These are a great dessert for an on-the-go college student.

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup corn syrup

1 cup sugar

6 cups rice krispies

1 cup butterscotch chips

1 package chocolate chips

In a small saucepan, heat the peanut butter, sugar, and corn syrup until warm. Then, add in the rice krispies. Spread the mixture into a 13×9 or 8×8 pan, based on how thick you want them. After the base is flat in a pan, melt the butterscotch and chocolate chips together and pour it over the top of the base. Let cool until top is hardened, then enjoy!!
