System Of A Down Releases First New Music in 15 Years

System Of A Down have just released two new songs, “Protect The Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz.” These songs are the first new songs that System Of A Down have created since 2005 when the band decided to take a break from recording and touring. “Protect The Land” has already reached #6 on Trending on YouTube while “Genocidal Humanoidz” has reached #10. This is a pleasant surprise for listeners of SOAD, however the main reason for these new releases is not the most pleasant. SOAD posted on their Twitter “We as SOAD have just released new music for the first time in 15 years. The time to do this is now, as together, the four of us have something extremely important to say as a unified voice.

According to their full statement, the origin of these two new songs comes from a tough situation that their home is facing. On September 27, Artsakh was attacked with rockets, bombs, missiles, and drones by Azerbaijan and Turkey because they want to claim Artsakh as their land. Turkey and Azerbaijan are committing genocidal acts against the people and wildlife there. System Of A Down expresses that they hope people can download the two new songs from their bandcamp site as an act of charity above all else, and the money earned will be donated to Armenia Fund, a US based charity organization that provides the citizens of Artsakh and Armenia with supplies needed for their basic survival. Please consider downloading the songs to support their cause at https://systemofadown.bandcamp.com/.
