Routine Ready

With everything that has been going on in the world it’s definitely been hard to stay on track. For me personally I like to maintain a schedule throughout the week in order to accomplish everything on my to do list. However, living at home while social distancing has really thrown off my schedule. It’s been hard for me to stay on task without distractions from my family or my phone. This is why it is important to be routine ready!

There are many benefits of having a routine and a schedule for each day. It can help your body both physically and mentally, especially during times like these. Below is a list of health benefits from having a routine! And remember, routines do not need to be boring, make it your own!

Benefits of Having a Routine:

● Increase your sleep!

○ When making a routine make sure to leave plenty of time for sleep. According toSleepFoundation.org, on average young adults need 7-9 hours of sleep a night. I know for me personally I have not been getting good consistent sleep in a while. The amount of sleep you get is linked back to energy levels and mental health. Incorporating a sleep schedule into your routine can really help with mental sharpness, performance, and emotional well being. With all of this being said, make sure to maintain your sleep schedule on a consistent time for waking up and going to bed each day.

● Reduce Your Stress Levels!

○ Similar to maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, having a coherent weekly routine will overall improve your stress levels. This will leave your time for relaxation on a daily basis while allowing your anxiety levels to go down. Not only that, but high levels of stress can lead to problems with your physical health as well. Maintaining stress is so important! For more information on how to manage your stress click here.

● Overall Improved Health!

○ Wanting to know how to improve your health in general? Plan and make a schedule! Go to bed earlier while setting an alarm earlier as well. Make sure you are eating at least three meals a day, including breakfast! Fueling your body with the correct nutrients is a huge part of being healthy! Not only that, but exercise! Exercise not to lose weight, but to be physically fit and mentally healthy. Being routine ready will improve your mindset and how you feel!

Use a planner, notebook, journal, sticky note, or just a plain old piece of paper to make your schedule! Once you get into the rhythm of things your health will improve day by day. Encourage others to do so as well! Helping others stay in a routine will be good for your mental health and theirs. Being routine ready will improve your motivation, self-esteem, and your all in all health.
