Whitewater Workout Edition

Are you tired of going to the gym to run on a treadmill and lift some weights? Are you looking to change up your workout routine? Are you looking to workout outside? If you said yes to any of these questions than this blog is for you!  Here are 4 ways that you can get an awesome workout in without being in the weight room!

Perkins

Perkins? That’s right! Perkins! The Perkins stadium is great place to climb some stairs. You can be creative as you want while climbing these stairs. The walkway part of the bleachers is also a great spot to mix in some core exercises.  Perkins is the perfect outdoor place to get a workout in due to the number of stairs and the turf. Go grab some buddies and get a killer workout at Perkins!

Hiking

Just to the right of SAAC, there is a cool hiking trail that you can take. It gets a bit buggy so pack some bug spray, but this is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. There are a few small hills on this trial, but it is easy to navigate through. There is nothing like taking a long hike in the woods to get some exercise.

Sports!

Whitewater has sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, softball fields, basketball courts and football fields that are all open to students! (make sure you know which fields are open to students and which ones aren’t) This is a great opportunity to grab your friends and to go play some sports! No matter which sport you like best, playing games with your friends is great way to be active and to get a good workout in.

Run for it

Ever take a run through Whitewater’s campus? Do it! Whitewater’s campus is all connected and is pretty much a giant square. This makes it ideal to run around or through it! You can mix your runs up by running through different parts of the campus and by running up and down some of the hills on campus. Whitewater also has some cross-country trails to check out too! Just make sure you know how to navigate them first! The campus and the cross-country trails are great places to go out for a run.
