Welcome, Kyle Bartosiak

On behalf of the entire ICIT organization, we are excited to welcome Kyle Bartosiak as our IT Policy Analyst. Kyle will facilitate university compliance with IT policies and best practices, particularly related to cybersecurity. This is a key position that will be working with the university leadership and shared governance to develop and implement processes and procedures to facilitate policy compliance.  

His main focus will be to:

  • Draft ICIT information security policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with UWSA established policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate implementation of ICIT information security policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with UWSA established policies and procedures.
  • Work with campus Compliance Specialist to establish practice directives and manage the process for implementation.
  • Collaborate with campus governance groups to modify, implement, and enforce established information security and information technology policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate rollout of new or updated information security policies and procedures.

Get to know a little bit about Kyle:

“I’m a huge technology nerd and have been tinkering with computers for 20+ years.  After a brief stint in the banking industry, I transitioned to IT and have spent that time either in or supporting NOCs.  I currently live in Madison with my cat, Jack.  In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, learning about new technologies, and cooking.”

Thank you, Steve Doll!

Steve’s final day with ICIT will be on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Steve has accepted a position with the WI State Patrol Technical Services Team as the lead IT resource for motor carrier enforcement staff and officers, working with federal motor carrier partners. On behalf of the entire ICIT organization, we would like to wish Steve the very best in this new adventure!

Steve started in ICIT in October of 2015, bringing with him two decades of IT-related experience. As ICIT’s Network Operations Specialist, Steve was responsible for deployment and day-to-day maintenance of event management and monitoring tools.

Welcome, Baby Vinny!

It is our pleasure to share with you the newest member of the ICIT team, baby Vincent (Vinny) Alexander De la O. He was born on July 1, weighing 8.8 pounds and 20.5 inches long. Proud Dad, Jimmy, and family are doing great!

Please join the celebration on Wednesday, July 13 at 1:00 in Andersen Room 1007. We will have dessert and refreshments. Feel free to bring a dessert to share!

Welcome, Kathryn Freidel

On behalf of the entire ICIT organization, we are excited to welcome Kathryn Freidel as our IT Business Analyst. Kathryn will perform business analysis to assist the ICIT department with the discovery phase of the UWSA Administrative Transformation Program (ATP). She will manage the process to validate and collect additional information on ancillary systems used at UW-Whitewater.  

Her main focus will be to:

  • Identify the ways the ICIT department is using HRS and SFS data
  • Identify where (systems and processes) this data flows
  • Identify what data do we upload to HRS and SFS
  • Identify interfaces between enterprise and department systems that may or may not be impacted

From Kathryn:

“A few fun facts–I graduated from UW Whitewater in 1988, Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance, my daughter was 2 years old. Prior to joining UW Whitewater, I led a cohort of campuses for the UWSA Harmony Discovery Project – Identity & Asset Management.”
