As we transition through color and temperature, here’s our compiled list of some of the coolest (or warmest) foodie activities for this fall!
Pumpkin Pancakes
You’ve heard of beating the cold with a warm pumpkin pie, but have you ever tried your hand at pumpkin pancakes? If not, we’re here to guide you through adding this recipe to your yearly tradition!
According to Sally’s Baking Recipes, ingredients include:
- All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
- Baking Powder (2 teaspoons) and Baking Soda (1 teaspoon)
- Cinnamon (2 teaspoons) and Pumpkin Pie Spice (1 teaspoon)
- Pumpkin Puree (1 and ¼ cups)
- Brown Sugar (⅓ cup)
- Egg (1)
- Oil (3 tablespoons)
- Whole Milk (1 and ½ cups)
- Chocolate Chips (Optional, 1 cup)
Here are the steps to combining these ingredients:
- Blend or whisk together 1 ¼ cups of pumpkin puree, a dash of brown sugar, one egg, a dash of oil, and milk. Don’t overmix, a few lumps is just fine!
- Preheat a pan to around 375ºF (190ºC). Avoid cooking the pancakes at high heat. This could burn your pancakes!
- After your pan is heated, spread oil into the pan, then pour your batter. Make the pancakes as large or small as you like!
- Check for bubbles popping in your pancake and that the sides are set. These are great signs they’re ready to flip.
- Place pancakes on a plate and enjoy!
