First Warhawks in Flight is a student organization created by first-generation college students for first-generation college students. We provide resources for students in college ranging from casual meetings to formal resource workshops. Started in October of 2017, this organization strives to be a place for first-generation college students and allies to meet and discuss the issues they’re facing and the successes they’ve had during their time in college.

Last semester we ran the First-Gen Student Resource Seminar. It consisted of three separate seminars where we partnered with the Financial Services Department, Global Studies, and The Student Involvement and Internship office in Career & Leadership Development. This seminar series was designed to provide resources for first-gen students and connect them with folks on campus and it was helpful for our students to get connected with other first-gen students and departments on campus.
