Working in high school… what a fun time. Sometimes I wonder how I went to school for 8 hours a day and then worked a 5-hour shift, but hey I needed money. I had a wide array of jobs in high school. I worked with customers, worked in the food industry, working in an office, working for myself. Honestly, one of the only jobs I didn’t do was work in retail, which I’m 100% okay with.

Read below to learn about the amazing places I got to say I worked at in high school and what they taught me.

Why I Love Marshalls

Why pay full price for an American Eagle shirt when you can get it for half the price and still brand spanking new? Isn’t a $12 shirt better than a $25 shirt? At Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Homegoods, you can do that. All three of these stores are sister companies and do the same thing: have anything and everything you’d want, but at a discounted price

Cute Clothes at a Cute Cost

With the weather finally starting to cool down and it’s finally feeling like fall, that means wanting a new wardrobe. Maybe it was growing up with a backyard garden, or my parents were big on having them around the house, but whatever it was, but thankful for it.

Grocery Shopping

When it comes to grocery shopping, I totally understand how people can spend $100+ for a week or two’s worth of food. You think you’re going make these crazy meals or eat all these snacks, when in reality you probably won’t. By time you go grocery shopping again, you end up throwing away half your things because they went bad.

Why You Should Save?

You may be asking, “what’s the whole point of saving when I want to do/buy stuff now?” It’s a valid question. Hopefully, you’ll be making money every week and don’t have to worry about getting behind on rent or other bills. However, that thought can and might be in the back of your mind. You don’t want to think about a day that you’ll loose your job, but you may have a day that you need a nesting fund. You could get in a accident, have your dishwasher go out, need to repair your car, the situations are endless.

However, not every situation will be a negative one. You may want to see your favorite band in concert, want a new pair of shoes, go on a weekend getaway with friends. You want to have that money readitly available to you for when you really need it.

What does it mean to budget?

Budgeting meaning different things to different people. Some people look at it as only having $100 a week to spend, and you need to pick how much you spend on what items. Other people look at it as spending still spending a $100 a week, but $50 is for groceries, $10 is for gas, and the rest is for activities. No matter how you look at budgeting, it all comes down to setting a limit on how much you can spend in a given time frame or at a given location.
