Growing up I lived a pretty active life. I was always in a sport and moving from place to place. I felt that since I was always active physically, I never thought about other things like eating and mental awareness. I danced my whole life and it was very serious. Once I was a sophomore in high school, my mental health had taken a toll and I decided it was best for me to quit. This was a very tough decision since I had been dancing since I was 3 years old, but I knew I was doing what was right for me. I wanted to continue to stay active so I started going to the gym and working out at home, but that was nothing compared to what we would do at dance. This is when I realized that not only did I need to continue to focus on staying active, but also take care of what I am eating, and where I am at mentally. This was when I started finding an interest in “healthier lifestyles.” Something I have learned during my process of trying to be healthier is that you will not notice much physical change unless you are in a good place mentally. Follow me on this journey that has taught me life lessons as well as certain aspects of who I am.
