START EM OR SIT EM? WEEK 5 EDITON

With more injuries and covid cases week 4, positions like running backs are quickly becoming scarce for fantasy owners. Hopefully if you are hurting in one of these areas you could trade or picked up on of the replacements like Mike Davis. Enough with the rambling, let’s begin!

Quarterbacks

Start Em

Teddy Bridgewater CAR vs @ATL

This one is a no brainer. Atlanta has given up four touchdowns in all of their games this season. Bridgewater is no slouch, either. He isn’t Rodgers or Wilson, but he sure will look like them this week against the defensive laughingstock of the league. His floor this game is250 passing yards and three total touchdowns. That is me being generous to Atlanta expected them to put up a fight.

Sit Em

Carson Wentz PHI @PIT

Wentz had an excellent rebound the last two games, but I am afraid that the decent points he’s putting up ends this weekend in Pittsburg. Pittsburgh had a week off, and this early in the season, they will be plenty fresh too. Their defense has gotten to the quarterback a whopping 15 times in three games! It doesn’t look good for Wentz with his offensive line pretty banged up going into this game.

Runningbacks

Start Em

Kareem Hunt CLE vs IND

What can I say other than with Nick Chubb out, it is now the Kareem Hunt show in Cleveland. He should receive most of the workload both in running and passing downs. Even with a tough matchup playing the Colts, his workload will make up for it alone. He has top-three upside this weekend.

Sit Em

Josh Jacobs LV vs @KC

The workload is there, but the production is not there. His best two games came when he had 25 or more carries, and that is not happening against the high scoring Chiefs. Las Vegas will be playing from behind, most likely from the start of the game leading to Jacobs seeing less work. It does not help that Carr does not target him often in passing, only averaging three catches, and e has yet to have a game over 50 receiving yards. I would try to bench him if you can. I know its hard with all the injuries but if you do play him do not expect much over eight points.

Wide Receivers

Start Em

DK Metcalf SEA vs MIN

I expect Metcalf to have another 100-yard game this weekend against the struggling Minnesota defense that only has three takeaways this season. Not to mention the MVP caliber year Wilson is having, so there will be plenty of work for the downfield threat Metcalf.

Sit Em

A.J. Green CIN vs @BAL

I like this matchup for Burrow, and mostly all the Bengals wide receivers except for Green. It feels like they are facing him out for other players as he spent a lot of time off the field in the second half of the game last week. Even putting that aside his numbers have been wrong so far as Burrow prefers other targets. It seems Green is finally at his end for fantasy, at least. He should be benched for the foreseeable future.

Tight Ends

Start Em

Jonnu Smith TEN vs BUF

Even if A.J. Brown comes back this week, I do not think it will impact Smith. If anything, it would help him as Buffalo will not target him as much. Even with a formidable defense like the Bills, Smith will see plenty of work and has an average of 10 plus yards per catch. He is a comfortable number one tight end this weekend.

Sit Em

Zach Ertz PHI vs @PIT

Its time to consider that Zach is not that top three tight end pick we all thought he would be this year, but it is not yet time to panic on him yet. However, he will not have a good game this weekend. He is averaging less than 10 yards per catch. The volume is there but not the yards. It also does not help him go against one of the better tight end defenses in the league who averages tight ends to have a lowly 3.7 catches for 41.3 yards a game. Even though Ertz may be elite, the Eagles are far from that and will drag Zach down with them this week. I would try to sit him if you can.

Defense

Start Em

Texans HOU vs JAC

This may seem shocking with the firing of Bill O’Brien, but I believe that is just was this defense needed. I also think this defense can contain Jacksonville. Miami did it. I do not see why Houston can’t either. Houston is a great streaming play if you need a defense.

Sit Em

Cowboys DAL vs NYG

Another defense PSA, please do not play the Cowboys defense as they only have one takeaway and one game they finished with positive points. It is evident that the Cowboys defense is incompetent and probably could not even play in the NCAA if you have them drop them and pick any other defense, even the falcons. That’s how bad the defense is.
