The Milwaukee Bucks started the All-Star break on a high note with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies, who are a very young and promising team. They escaped with a 112-111 win that took a game winning shot from Jrue Holiday with 2 seconds left. While they had a good first half of the game, they struggled in the second half as their first three point shot of the game came in the last minute of the game. It was a very good way to bounce back against the loss against the Denver Nuggets, which they lost by 31 points, which is considered a blow out in Basketball.
While Giannis Antetokounmpo was considered a lock for the NBA All-Star game, no one else on the Milwaukee Bucks got a spot on the All-Star game. While Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday, the best players after Giannis, did not make it, both of them are still having a great season and had an arguement for the All-Star game, but fell just short.
How the All Star game works is that about 14 players are voted through twitter into a game that is played by those considered the best in the NBA. Those players are then drafted by 2 captains who are considered the very best in the NBA. This years captains were Lebron James and Kevin Durant, even though Kevin Durant will not be playing due to injury. Giannis Antetokoumpo was drafted by Lebrons team, which has a starting roster of Steph Curry, Luka Donic, and Nikola Jokic. All these players are in the MVP race so it should make for an entertaining game.
The All star game will take place March 7th in Atlanta, Georgia along with other events such as the dunk contest and the three point contest.
