The Injury bug

While the Bucks went on their huge win streak to keep them competitive in the east, they have been hit by injuries to some of the biggest stars on the team. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday all have been hurt and forced to miss a game or two, especially Giannis, who continues to be out of the lineup and when he does play, clearly is not the same. It really cannot be understated on how massive this could potentially be for the season. With teams like the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets adding on to their teams with quality veterans, it only makes the championship that much harder to win. If Giannis is hurt for the rest of the season, that then pretty much ends any chance of winning it all this year. The question is should the Bucks bench Giannis more to heal him up for the playoffs, but risk sliding down the seeds in the East, which determines playoff matchups.

The injuries have slowed the Bucks down, with them dropping 3 in a row this week. Fortunately they are still in contention for a good seeding in the playoffs, so hopefully they will not drop further. They were able to pick up a couple of wins against the Lakers and Trail Blazers. Overall, the season is in danger but it is not over. They have shown that when healthy, they can compete with anyone. A little bit of rest and little bit of momentum can send this team flying to a championship.
