On Tuesday America Will Change

On Tuesday November 8, 2016 America as we know it will change. The 2016 election will end that night and we will find out who will be president, Clinton or Trump. Ever since we found out who the final two nominees were the polls have gone back and forth. Lately polls have shown Clinton in the lead. An article from the New York Times says the reason for Clinton’s sudden lead is the surge of Latino voters at this moment. Trump has been getting Latino voters as well but not as much as Clinton. Stuff has gone back and forth between them and them comparing who is worse. For me, they both have bad qualities but people deserve second chances. So I feel that this could be their second chance in life.

Do you think these voters could change the outcome of who we thought would be president? I dont know. For me, it could go either way. I just cant wait until this election will be over.

Homerun to the Internet

It is baseball season and the World Series  just began. The series consists of the Cleveland Indians vs. Chicago Cubs. You are probably wondering what the World Series has to do with online journalism. This World series has had the biggest viewing since 2009 and they should be grateful because of the internet.  With the elevated attention to the World Series and the move to a larger potential audience on Fox, Game 1 audience represented a near-doubling of the 9.7 million viewers. (counting online and tv) Most of the sports channels that are on T.V. are now online so, people are able to watch where ever they are. Most viewers are young adults so they is also the reason of the spike in viewing. With the rise of online journalism we wouldn’t be able to watch or even read about what is going on in the game. If you dont have time to watch the game, you can check the scorig online which has helped tremendously through out the years. Go Warhawks! Go CUBS!!!!!

The Internet had gone Dark

Like any other Friday morning I sleep in but today I had to get up by 10 for errands and when I get up I check my social media accounts. My Facebook and Instagram were fine just like any other normal day but for some reason my Twitter didnt want to work. I think nothing of it and decide to check it later and it was fine 2 hrs later. Not thinking it was a big problem, boy was I wrong. There was an internet hack against the east coast of the US and parts of England. I found this by looking through my feedly and it directed me to CNN. I was shocked when I heard this because I didnt think it was possible to hack the internet. Some major sites that were effected were; Twitter, Netflix, Spotify, Reddit, Hulu, CNN, Fox News and many others. I think this is pretty important to us because our classes ad our future careers depend on having the use of the internet and if we dont have it, what are we supposed to do. Everything got fixed by 3pm but it is scary knowing someone is capable of doing this. Hope everyone is aware of what is happening around them. Have a great Homecoming weelend! Go Warhawks!

Technology that Changes

October 14th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

In the last 21 years of my life technology has drastically changed. From having big bricks as phones to the touch screen phones we have today. Also from the computers that didn’t do anything expect for business stuff to computer having the use of the internet and playing movies on them. As you can tell technology has changed dramatically. Searching through feedly I found an interesting article about instagram that i thought you guys should all know. The articles talks about how you can get Instagram on Windows 10 tablets instead of just on your phone. I thought this so amazing because I love Instagram and being able to have it on more than one device would be so cool. This shows you how far technology has come in the last 20 years and even in the last 50 years. Sometimes we may depend on it to much but we all appreciate it in some way. Just imagine 10 years ago we didn’t have some of the technologies we have today. Just remember to be grateful for what we have and who knows when our children are our age they might say our technology today is nothing compared to what they have. Go Warhawks!!

Fixing my other two Blogs

October 09th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

th

Hey world..hope everyone is having a great day and a great week. It has been busy for me but that is for another time. I just wanted to say congratulations to the UW-Whitewater football team on beating the Oshkosh Titans 17-14. Now on to the blog of the week. This week I fixed my past two blogs based on what learned from NewsU and the comments from my professor. The NewsU course this week was really interesting and it will help me in the future of my education and job experience. The NewsU course talked about a lot of stuff but the information I got the most out of was the hierarchy and the use of white space. The way I changed my past two blogs was the use of the hierarchy. My main title was good because it was at the top front and center but the problem I had was the picture to my main stories was at the bottom of the blog. So, I changed the placement of my blog to the beginning of my blog front and center. The reason I did this is because media/videos/pictures grab the attention of the reader and if I have it at the bottom the reader will surpass my story and just look at the picture. The media is the key to grabbing the readers attention. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. GO WARHAWKS!

It Has Happened Again….

September 30th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

11675971_f520On September 28, 2016 we added another event to our long list of history. In South Carolina there was a shooting at an elementary school. Two students were shot along with a teacher and they were shot by a teenager that was home schooled. I ask myself everyday why this happens and I can never find an answer. All I can figure out is that we have to much hate in this world. Since we are all still in school, I wonder if you guys have the same fears I do. Every time I go to class I am always thinking what if something like that happens in Whitewater. There are no locks on half of the doors to the classrooms on campus and we have such big windows to see into the classrooms, anyone could get in. We should not have to worry when we go to class about a shooting or a bombing happening but that is just the world we live in I guess. Just make sure if you see any suspicious tell somebody. We want our school to be safe and not be another event on a long list of schools that lost people because of a shooting. And for the families that have lost people to school shootings, I pray for you and I hope your family can pull through this, there is love in this world.  GO WARHAWKS!

Will Whitewater Watch

As many of you know the Presidential debate is coming up in November but before that there is a presidential debate this coming Monday. For most of us this will be the first presidential election we are going to be voting for. The article/blog mentions that this debate will be the most watched presidential debate since Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter back in 1980. I think the reason for that is that our choices our Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton. They might not be the best choices but that is all we have. Some students like Trump while others like Clinton, but I know people that would rather vote for Mickey Mouse. The reason kids, teenagers and young adults know a lot about our candidates then in past elections is the rise of social media and technology. We tend to find out more then we want to know half the time. I am pretty sure most of the campus and college campuses around the country will be tuning in to see what these two candidates will say. It might change some people’s mind or it might get people to vote. Or they could be like me and my roommates and just not vote at all. Well, it is up to you if you vote or not. I wont force you but just make sure to tune in to see what is up next for the presidential candidates. Go Warhawks!!!

3 Blogs from Feedly

September 16th, 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

While looking through Feedly.com I saw a lot of blogs but I knew I wanted each of these blogs to represent something different. I am a person that enjoys different things, so I would like my blog to showcase that.

The first blog I found was “Music Blog”.

https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feed/http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/rss

I chose this blog because I have a passion for music. I can not go a day with out listening to music. For me music is a way to for me to let go of my stress in life and not worry about anything else. This blog talks about music from Lady Gaga all the way to British Heavy Metal. I enjoy how diverse this blog is. It has all types of genres and the writer does not show favoritism to one genre. The writer says good things about any genre they are writing about. There’s plenty of content to browse through and enjoy and that is exciting for me. This blog is capable of grabbing attention from everyone that likes music which is great for the community and audience.

The second blog I found was “The Wrestling Blog”

https://feedly.com/i/spotlight/wrestling%20blogs

I chose this blog because you can say I am huge fan of wrestling. Any time that I can find that I have nothing to do you will see me reading or watching wrestling. This blog is something I would read everyday because the writer talks about what happened during the shows and his opinion which I love hearing other people’s opinion. He shows great photos with his writing so if I did miss a show I would know what happened. The community and audience that love wrestling will enjoy this because they wont miss anything about their favorite wrestlers.

The third blog I found was “Photography Blog News”

https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feed/http://feeds2.feedburner.com/photographyblog

I chose this blog because I enjoy photography and this blog shows amazing pictures and what type of equipment is best for taking the pictures you want. The best thing about this blog is that it shows you and tells you how to use the newest camera for best all around pictures you would love. The writer tells you how to work certain attachments for your camera. The community and audience would love this because this blog not only shows pictures and new equipment, it teaches you how to use it.

Until next time world……
