Softball Ends Week 3-1

The UW-Whitewater softball team had a busy week, playing two double-headers. On Tuesday, the Warhawks hosted WIAC opponent UW-Stevens Point for a double-header. In the first game, pitcher Mallory Hollatz pitched for five scoreless innings, and the Warhawks took the first game 8-0. In the second game, Rihann Dick pitched a great game, allowing only two runs until being relieved by Kate Cleveland. The Warhawks won game two 7-3.

On Thursday, the Warhawks faced Carthage in another double-header. In the first game, Carthage took a very early lead and Whitewater couldn’t get their offense going. Carthage took game one 9-0. Game two was a defensive battle. Kate Cleveland pitched an incredible game while Carthage’s defense was making stellar plays. The score was 0-0 in extra innings until Meghan Dunning walked it off with a single in the bottom of the eighth, giving the Warhawks the victory with a 1-0 final score.
