ICIT, please give a warm welcome the new Director of Learning Technology, Nicole Weber, PhD. Dr. Weber comes to us from UW-Milwaukee, where she worked in UWM’s equivalent to our LTC. At UWM, she provided pedagogical and technical support for university teaching staff needing assistance developing online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses. She also supervised level 1 technicians providing D2L support, participated in conferences and workshops focusing on learning technology, and wrote grant requests for initiatives related to learning technology. Dr. Weber also served as an associate lecturer at UWM and where she taught multiple classes on educational policy and community studies.
As UW-Whitewater’s Director of Learning Technology, Dr. Weber will be the campus’s leading voice on learning technology initiatives and projects. Along with providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the LTC team, she will also oversee support for campus learning technologies, serve on committees focusing on learning technology and she will help secure grant funds. Dr. Weber’s first day at UW-Whitewater was October 21st.
