Staff & Position Updates

Two new team members will soon be joining iCIT:

  • Dale Kranenberg joins AIS today, August 21st, as Web Applications Developer.
  • Jason Schmidt will be joining NOC on Monday, August 28th, as an IS Network Services Senior, in the position previously held by Nick Ciesinski. His office will be in McGraw 9.

Watch for more information about these individuals coming soon.

Over the past year and a half, Margaret Martin has worked in a project position in the iCIT Adminstrative Office. Following Mary Schumacher’s departure in August 2005, Margaret graciously stepped in to fill the responsibilities of the Financial Specialist position and provide administrative support in the iCIT office. Margaret has announced she will be leaving iCIT, and her last day will be September 15th. Ranei Johnson Scholler will be assuming the iCIT office and financial responsibilities during the transition period.

Outlook “Deleted Items” Folder

In mid-September a new policy will be implemented regarding the management of Faculty and Staff “Deleted Items” folders. Student “Deleted Items” folders are currently automatically emptied of items with a date older than 30 days. This policy will now apply to Faculty and Staff accounts as well. Messages will be retrievable using the “Recover Deleted Items” function in Outlook for two weeks after they have been removed. Announcement of this change will be made to campus in early September.

See Something New…

iCIT will host a Technology Open House (TOH) on Thursday, August 31 from 1-4pm in the Andersen Lab/LTC area. The theme of the Open House is “See Something New”, and will showcase the latest campus technology tools, systems, and practices. Many iCIT staff members will participate, providing their expert knowledge in the many services provided to the UWW campus. All faculty and staff are invited to meet with our staff, check out new and changing technology, and receive personalized help. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be given away to guests.
