iCIT Front Office Changes for Effectiveness

Several recent changes in the iCIT front office will help provide more effective administrative support for the iCIT division.

Ranei Johnson-Scholler is now working 35 hours a week, and will continue to provide financial and business support services. Ashley Schultz is also providing administrative assistance in the front office. Both Ranei and Ashley will staff the front desk throughout the week, and their schedules will also be posted to help you know when they are available.

The space in L2007 is now used for Ashley and Ranei’s workstations, and the copy/work area has been moved across the hall to L2008. If you have any questions about the front office or administrative support, please feel free to contact Ranei or Ashley.

Open Position for Information Security Officer/Coordinator

iCIT is now recruiting for the role of Information Security Officer/Coordinator. This position is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of a cogent and comprehensive Information Security and Assurance Program that incorporates: Security Policy and Compliance, campus-wide information security strategy, Security Awareness, Security Risk Assessment and Mitigation, Security Incident Response, and Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning.

This role will also have a new focus in the area of IT Policy Development, including responsibility for establishing a framework for IT policy development, as well as the actual development of IT policies to assure compliance with external mandates such as federal and state laws and regulations, and to support the operational needs of the university.

Barry Henrichs Returning to iCIT

Barry Henrichs will be returning to iCIT as a part-time employee on August 20th. He will be on campus two days per week, helping to identify, evaluate, and implement collaboration and communication technologies for campus. Please join us in welcoming Barry back to UWW!

Personnel Update

Blake Penn announced that he will be leaving UWW to relocate to the Atlanta area where he will work as an information security consultant with AmbironTrustWave. In December 2004 Blake joined iCIT in a 3-year project position for the newly created role of Information Security Officer. During his time with iCIT, he led the organization in establishing an information security framework, including policy development and network security. We appreciate Blake’s contribution to our team and wish him well in the next season of his career. His last day will be Friday, August 10th.
