iCIT is pleased to announce that Joe Friedel has accepted the position of Client Software Technologist and will start in that role officially on Monday, March 3. In this role, Joe’s primary responsibility will be to provide expertise and support of client software for campus enterprise and departmental systems. Brett Cook Accepts Role as Workstation Services Manager
iCIT is pleased to announce that Brett Cook has accepted the position of Workstation Services Manager and will start in that role officially on Monday, February 11. In this role, Brett will be responsible for the on-going support of the workstation management tools, processes and policies for remote workstation management and the images used for computer provisioning. The position is responsible for providing the environment which allows other iCIT staff to carry out their support responsibilities, and which meets the needs of customers. In addition, the position is responsible for supporting new technologies as applied to departmental business processes.

Carl Peterson Announces Retirement
Carl Peterson has announced that he will be retiring this spring. His last day at work will be February 4, 2008. We appreciate Carl’s many years of service to UW-W and will wish him the best in his retirement.
Organizational Change in Database Administration Reporting
In order to facilitate the PeopleSoft 9.0 upgrade and ensure that our application developers have all of the support needed for database (and data) administration, we are transitioning responsibility for database administration from NOC to AIS effective immediately.
As part of this transition, Rick Buerger will be joining AIS and will be moving his office to the developers’ area. While Rick’s dedication and easygoing manner will be missed by those in NOC, they are confident that this change is best for the organization at this time.
Open Position for Technology Skills Advancement
iCIT is now recruiting for the role of Technology Skills Advancement. The position’s primary responsibility is to develop methodologies for the advancement of the skills of university staff in using technology. The position will provide leadership in the development of training solutions and methodologies to improve the general understanding of technology concepts. The person will transition campus from the traditional approach of teaching software features to methods that focus on departmental business processes. The person in this position works under the supervision of the Director of Office Technology and Enterprise Communication in iCIT.
The position is open for transfer until December 27th. If there are no transfer candidates, the position will be posted for open recruitment.
