ICIT Welcomes New Intern

ICIT is pleased to welcome Human Resources intern Rachel Martin to the team! Today is her first day with the department. Her duties will include helping develop and post  job ads, providing support during the candidate screening process, and assisting with administrative duties. Her desk is located in Andersen Library, L2008 (the copy room across from the ICIT office) and she will be in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through the remainder of the semester.

Rachel is a senior from Stratford, WI majoring in Human Resources Management, she is on track to graduate in December of 2015. From there, she plans to pursue a career in Human Resources.

ICIT seeking Network AVCT Cabling & Support Technician

ICIT is currently searching for a qualified technician to install, maintain, and repair campus network cabling infrastructure to support audio, video, and data networks. This position will be responsible for working closely with Facilities, Planning & Maintenance (FP&M) to complete both infrastructure-related data runs and classroom-related cabling needs.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Strong Knowledge of network cabling systems, including TIA/EIA copper and fiber standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Crestron infrastructure cabling standards and programming.
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage cables, including speaker wire, serial (RS-232 & RS-422), and other A/V standards.
  • Strong Knowledge of coaxial cable standards (RG6, RG59, ETC.).

ICIT Personnel Announcement – Peter Vander Velden

After spending two years as a member of the ICIT team, Peter recently accepted a network security position with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Division of Information Technology (DoIT). His last day with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was Friday, November 14th. Peter’s primary role with ICIT was campus AV support specialist, he was part of the UET team. While with ICIT, Peter played an instrumental role in implementing standardization of classroom AV technology on the UW-Whitewater campus. ICIT wishes Peter the best in Madison.
