iCIT Seeking Business Process Engineer

iCIT is actively recruiting for a new Business Process Engineer position, whose primary responsibilities will be business process management, particularly in the areas of collaboration and mobility. Job duties will  include assessing and analyzing current business practices, identifying process improvements and opportunities, and recommending technology solutions based on the goals, objectives and IT plans of  the University.

This position requires an analyst who can understand and assess complex business needs, lead process analysis and redesign efforts, have in-depth understanding of collaboration and mobile technologies to champion,  plan and manage technology adoption projects.   The position will serve as a member of the iCIT staff and will work under the general supervision of the Technology Advancement, Communications and Training (TACT) Manager.    Key responsbilities of the job include:

  • Provides recommendations and solutions to complex business problems.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes to best leverage existing solutions.
  • Develop and refine standards and best practices.
  • Prepare and present the business case for IT projects.
  • Translate customer request into a set of technical requirements.
  • Evaluate technology solutions recommended by customers.
  • Develop, review, and recommend long- and short-range automation plans.
  • Facilitate data gathering and analysis on mobile device usage and deployment.
  • Facilitates “clearinghouse” process for mobile apps and services.
  • Works with IT staff to assure proper authentication process on mobile devices.
  • Provides research and testing of new technologies.
  • Engages the campus community in piloting new technologies.
  • Develops Service Level Agreements for new technologies.
  • Prepares reports and recommendations on potential new applications for existing or emerging technologies on campus.
  • Provides analysis of the current usage and ongoing needs for collaborative technology.
  • Assists in the selection and management of collaborative tools.
  • Manages the implementation and adoption of technology resources and tools for educational and administrative collaboration.
  • Determine business processes most likely to lead to adoption of collaborative technologies and work with Communications, NOC and Web Group to enable.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations on potential applications for existing or emerging communication / collaboration / workflow technologies.

Qualified candidates shoudl have proven knowledge of and ability to apply business analysis practices, including needs analysis and requirements gathering and documentation.  He or she should have the ability to lead business process analysis projects and to facilitate process redesign efforts, as well as plan and manage technology integration and adoption.  Diverse technical expertise is required.
