Many students know that UW-Whitewater has NCAA athletics programs and intramural sports, but many don’t know that we also have “club sports.” Whether you’re a basketball player, weightlifter, or fisherman, we have the club for you! Club Sports is an opportunity for students to play sports at a more competitive level and travel to other schools for competitions. UW-W has 31 different Club Sports teams that practice on a weekly basis, travel in and out of the state for games and competitions, and have their own student leadership within the different sports.
Club sports is also a great way to make new friends and advance your personal leadership skills. Just like any other organization, Club Sports has their own leadership teams within the sport. By joining a team and being actively involved, you could run for a student leadership position and be involved in the planning and organization of team activities. Club Sports is also a great way to meet new people, by practicing with your teammates and meeting other schools when you go to competitions.
