Hello there! Welcome back to Traveling Twenties, I hope you’re excited for what’s to come, I sure am. As we take off in this plane I’m going to talk all about what you need to make sure you have done before you go on a trip. It’s so important to make sure you’ve got everything planned out so you don’t forget an important item and have a damper on your fun trip.
First things first you need a budget. You need to know how much money you have to spend overall during the trip including airfare, site seeing, activities, food, and more! It’s easy to do, if you’re going with friends talk to everyone to see how much they want to spend throughout this trip and then plan accordingly. Make sure when you’re doing all the other tasks I will give you that you deduct prices from that budget.
Next, the no brainier part, you want to figure out the location you’re going to! There are so many cool places in the world I know it’s difficult for me to decide. After that, you need to decide how long you’re going to said destination and at what time of the year works best for you.
When I first started traveling, I was young so I didn’t realize how important it was to plan out the majority of your trip before you go on it. I would leave things till the last minute or even until I got there and that did not help my situation at all. So lets dive into the rest of the planning you need to do!
You need to plan your plane rides there and back, keep your eyes peeled for a future article where I give you all of my tips on how to travel for as low of a cost as possible. Keeping on the transportation train, you need to figure out how you’re going to be traveling when you get to your destination of choice. If you’re walking, no biggie YAY for exercise! If you are going to take Uber’s or Lyft’s make sure to download the app and that they are available in that city. It might not seem important now, but if you figure that out in advance you can also save money in the long run.
Living spaces are next. There are plenty of options in regards to how you want to live when you’re on vacation. Maybe you have some family that will open their doors, otherwise you have Airbnb is a great option, or hotels.
Last, but not least, is the most important part of traveling to a new destination is doing your research on that city. If it’s a more exotic place that’s outside of the country you live in make sure to learn about their cultures, you don’t want to come off as rude and it can really make your time there even more enriching! Also, planning your adventures while your there makes your life so much easier so you don’t have to be stressing while you’re there. With that being said, that doesn’t mean you can’t be spontaneous a few times as they say those can be some of the best moments on trips and I can attest to that.
I’ve been told from the pilot that we’re now up 15,000 feet in the air. So, sit back and relax on this plane trip and I’ll be back with another story before the first hour of our flight ends, I hope you’ve learned some new things about what you need to do before you plan a trip!
Until next time,
Marisa
