Laurie Lawlor, author of This Tender Place: The Story of a Wetland Year, will read from her book on Tuesday, November 13th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kachel Center. The book, set in southeastern Wisconsin and based on research conducted in the University Library’s archives, is “a story of refuge and renewal refracted through the lens of life within wetlands – among the most productive, yet most endangered, ecosystems in the world.” The book was honored with a 2006 Wisconsin Library Association Outstanding Achievement Book Award.
