  • Titled, French and Native Influences on Naming Practices Along the Great Lakes Region, the goal of this research project is to review the history of naming practices in this region to understand the cultural significance of the original names and the French influence over why the names may have changed.  Our goals are to find the original names, reconnect them to the people that are originally from there, and create a story map that shows our findings in a clear and concise manner.
