LockDown Browser Issue on Macs

Posted on May 18, 2012 by Susan Degen

We’ve been made aware of an issue specifically with the Respondus LockDown browser (LDB) and Mac computers. Single-line text entry fields, such as login or short answer question fields, will appear “blacked out”. This makes the text entered into these fields unreadable.

A fix for LDB has been released to compensate for this bug. If you are using a personal Mac computer, you must install the latest version of LDB. This can be done by going through the following steps:

  1. Open LockDown Browser.
  2. Select “About” from the toolbar then select “Check for Newer Version”.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install.

If you have any questions regarding LDB and this bug, please contact UW-W D2L Support.
