To Swipe or Not to Swipe

I grew up watching Disney movies of the guy swooping a girl off her feet. There always a dramatic conflict in the middle but just as the movie would end the guy would come back with a big romantic gesture and they would live happily ever after.

Well… seems like Disney lied to me. Modern-day love seems to revolve around dating sites now where romance means receiving a message asking about your day instead of a bad pick up line. However, I have seen a few success stories so maybe love isn’t dead yet?

A great part of quarantine though is these sites giving more features for free. For example, many of them did updates that included being able to video chat through the app. This feature is new and I think it is a great way for people to get to know each other better. I also think it is a fun way to meet new people and something to do during this quarantine. Tinder has made their “passport” feature free now too. With this feature, you can change your location to anywhere in the world and match with people there. Personally, I think this could be fun to try out because if we don’t get to actually travel at least we get to meet and learn more about new cultures. It would be really cool to make friends with someone from other places in the world, especially if you ever got to Facetime. Then you could really get to learn more and still “travel” despite being in lockdown.
