A Great Start To The Season

As of writing this (September 24th) the Green Bay Packers have played their first two games of the season and they have looked great. They played the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions and put up 40 points in each outing. It was great that we got 2 wins right off the bat against 2 divisional opponents. Both the Vikings and the Lions have abysmal defenses which allowed Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, and Davante Adams to thrive to start the season. The second season under head coach Matt LaFleur is looking great so far. In week one Davante Adams thrived with 14 catches, 156 yards, and 2 touchdowns. This performance is insane and in Fantasy Football he was sure to help your team win to start of the season, putting up 43.6 points. Then in week 2 back in Green Bay, we had our first home game against the Lions and it was Aaron Jones’ turn. He had 18 carries for 168 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns along with 4 catches for 68 yards and another touchdown. This perfect performance awarded him 53.6 fantasy points, even more than Davante Adams the week before. Rodgers had a great performance week 1 when the passing game thrived and a respectable performance week 2 when the running game took over. In fantasy, he had 45.2 and 25.6 in weeks 1 and 2 respectively.

Next week the Pack travels to New Orleans to face the Saints and they looked very shaky Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders. The underdog Raiders team pulled out the victory to open their new stadium in Las Vegas. Next weeks matchup in New Orleans should be interesting but I still think that the Packers can pull out the victory whether or not Davante Adams who is nursing a hamstring injury plays.

  1. The Packers have been looking good! Aaron Rodgers is playing so free and seems like he is enjoying playing this year, which I can’t say for the last few years. Aaron Jones is also emerging to be potentially the best running back in the NFC North. The Packers may not have Adams, but the Saints may not have Michael Thomas, which makes it about a wash for loosing talent. Do you think Jones will have another big week as Rodgers has to rely on him without Adams? I think the key to beating the Saints will be to put pressure on Drew Brees so he can’t pick apart the defense through both short and long passes.
