First off, I want to thank everyone for reading throughout the semester. I’ve put quite a bit of time and effort into these posts (probably more than was expected or required of me), because I enjoy talking about these things.
I’m sure some of the topics I discussed at length were fairly uninteresting or even boring to some readers, but even still, I appreciate the positive support and feedback I’ve received.

With that out of the way, I figured I’d talk about my plans moving forward – specifically in relation to this blog.

Plans in Regards to Drawing

As I’ve expressed in a few of my posts, the art related posts take a long time to plan out, draw for, and put together. It’s a huge time sink. Most of the instructional art posts took me around 6+ hours to write.
Plus, I’m not really qualified to teach most of the subjects I’ve been discussing – not yet, at least. Maybe I will be sometime in the future.

At the moment, I’m a student. I need to spend more time improving my skills, and less time talking about them.
Less talking, more doing.

Plans in Regards to Game Development

Game development is a little easier for me to talk about.
As a subject, game development comes a bit more naturally to me than drawing, and the posts themselves are much easier for me to plan out and put together.

Unfortunately, even though game development is generally easier for me to post about, I can’t discuss it as readily.

I don’t want to share too much about my game. This is a sentiment I’ve expressed several times throughout my recent posts.
I’m fairly secretive and protective of my methods, and even though I’ve only shared a fraction of the ideas and mechanics of my game, I still feel as though I’ve overshared a little bit.

There’s a lot that I haven’t talked about, and I’d like to keep it that way.

What Does That Mean For the Blog?

Well, I’d certainly like to keep the blog around. I’ve put quite a lot of time and effort into this blog over the past couple months, and it’d be a shame for it to go to waste.
With that in mind, I’ll be speaking with the professor and UW-W to figure out how I can keep this blog under my name and control after the semester, and after I graduate, if at all possible.

That said, I don’t think I’m going to be updating this blog frequently, if at all.
I’m extremely busy, and I simply do not have the time, nor the energy to regularly update this blog.
And again, game development, the topic that’s easier for me to talk about, is something I want to avoid discussing at-length.

For Those Who Are Interested In Supporting Me

Obviously, this blog was part of a class assignment, but some of the engagement I received throughout the semester seemed genuine.

Art

So, for those of you who were or are actually interested in following my progress, whether in terms of art or game development, the best thing you can do is follow my art Instagram.
It’s the only social media platform that I update semi-regularly.

I’ll be posting my art (of course), along with some game development stuff moving forward.
Game development posts on that account will likely be related purely to the pixel art and animation side of things.
Even if I wanted to share story details, Instagram isn’t exactly the most convenient way to do that.

Game Development

As for (more specifically) following the development of my game.. Aside from following me on Instagram, there aren’t a wealth of options.
I won’t be posting about my game publicly until it’s almost done – which probably won’t be for at least two years.

If you’re really interested in following the development and/or release of my game on as many platforms as possible, you can find me on RPGMaker.net. This will be the first place I upload Deep Graves.
I’ll probably upload it to Gamejolt and/or Itch.io as well, but RPGMaker.net will be the most reliable place to check.

Again, I won’t be posting anything about it online until it’s nearly finished, so if you’re sitting around waiting for an update, you’re gonna be waiting for a while.

Thank You!

With all that said and done, I’d like to once again thank you for reading this post, and for reading my posts throughout the semester.
