Week 11: The Final Rose

Buckle up.. this is a dramatic finale. The episode starts out with Matt going home and explaining his situation and experience with the Bachelor to his family. And then the show jumps immediately into the dates!

The first home date is with Michelle! When Matt explains Michelle he gives her qualities such as: understanding, smart, patient, and kind. Michelle is so wholesome, and hearing her talk about everything made me smile. Even Matt’s mom and brother saw it too. Matt’s mom even got super emotional and voiced her respect for Michelle for being open and honest. Overall, it was amazing date and it even ended in a cute snowball fight.

The other person Matt introduces to his family is Rachel. Matt says Rachel pushes him to be open, vulnerable, and there is a huge physical chemistry with her. One thing Matt’s mom likes about Rachel is the way that she understands Matt. Rachel really opens up to Matt’s mom about how much she loves Matt and how it connected him to her heart the first moment he prayed over them. This part was too cheesy for me and I couldn’t tell how genuine Rachel was being. Overall their date ended well, this made me question how he is going to pick.

Then, Matt goes to talk to his mom and brother alone. Overall, they both loved both of the girls. Also, Matt voices his concerns about picking the right woman and knowing it is love. His mom even says “love is not the end all be all.” While, his brother states his confidence in Matt and his choices, but also encourages him to not jump into an engagement. All of this talk honestly scared Matt, and it took him back to a time where his dad left his mom and it broke up their family. This brought Matt to talk about this to Chris, and this makes Matt re-think everything.

THE BACHELOR – “2510” – As the landmark 25th season comes to a close, the two final women will meet Matt’s family and enjoy one last date before he hands out the final rose. After all this, Matt’s mind seems made up, but when a shocking last-minute development threatens to alter the course of his entire journey, will he give in to his fears or let his heart lead the way? For Michelle and Matt’s last date they decide to propel down a tall building! However, even after Michelle professes her love during the day, Matt’s concerns carry on to the night. Michelle brings some really thoughtful gifts of jerseys for Matt that night, though that made things feel worse for Matt. So, Matt voices his concerns, and as expected this brings Michelle to tears. Matt confesses that he doesn’t think he can get there with her, and in the end she goes home. I thought this was crazy, really random, and honestly unfair to Michelle. Honestly, the funniest part was when Chris said to Matt “How does it feel to let an amazing women like that walk away?”

After the talk with Chris, Matt was definitely confused (you can see in picture above) and decided he needed some time and canceled the date with Rachel. Chris goes to tell Rachel and she is heartbroken and confused. However, the next clip is Matt getting a ring from the ring guy. To be honest, it confuses me why he would cancel his date with Rachel, where he would have gotten clarity, to then go get a ring. I think Matt is confused and definitely not in the right mindset in that moment to be making the right decisions. Although, Matt decides to give Rachel some answers and she meets him at the lake.

While at the lake, Matt decides to not propose to Rachel due to his uncertainties. Meanwhile, Matt decides he still wants to pursue his relationship with Rachel outside of the show. I honestly didn’t picture them ending up together, and while I don’t like the ending I hope it works out for them.

Stay tuned for next week, where I will give a season recap and talk about the aftermath of the final rose!

    Hi Brooke!

What a shocking ending, amirite? The silence during the after the final rose was SO awkward!! Especially the part where Emmanuel Acho asked them if they wanted to hug before they never see each other again and Matt said no! How do you feel about Chris Harrison not hosting The Bachelorette? The producers are sneaker than we think! I heard a theory that they told Chris to go on Rachel Linsays show and defend Rachel Kirkconnell because “they needed their winner to look good” but they also wanted Chris to get in some kind of scandal so they would have an excuse to replace him, since he is getting old and out of touch. Some of the people on the show right now are Gen Z. Isn’t that crazy?!

    Have a great week!

Hi Brooke! Wow! That sounds crazy. I remember last week when you said you wanted Michelle to win. I have seen a lot of articles going around talking about how problematic Rachel has been. It’s unfortunate that she kind of won even though they didn’t get engaged. Even from just reading your posts, Matt and Michelle seemed like a better fit. Great post again!
