Your Wedding Day Is Over….Now What?

The I Do’s have been said, the champagne drunk, and the night danced away……. now what?

Wedding days go by so quickly. There are months of planning and then suddenly its all over. Many times I would get emails from my brides a few days after asking “what am I forgetting?”. Its no wonder that with all the craziness before the wedding, no one even thinks of what to do after. Here are the five things I remind my brides to do post wedding.

#1- Breath

You can finally relax and just be married!! Take some time to just be together and have some down time. It might seem obvious but after have a year of wedding planning and projects you can go through withdrawals.

#2- Write Your Thank You’s

Don’t be the person that takes seven months to thank your guests for being a part of your special day. Even though you did all the work people often bring gifts, give money, travel, and rent hotel rooms. Even if they didn’t do any of those things, they gave their time to show their support and love, and that needs to be recognized.

#3- Have A Name Change Checklist

For those changing their names after marriage, a checklist is a great way to remember what you’ve already done. People usually don’t realize the many places they have to update their information. Social security cards, driver’s licenses, credit cards, passports, gym memberships, social media, etc. The list goes on and on, so have one will keep you on track.

#4- Print Your Wedding Photos

Many photographers no long print photos for couples but release the rights to the photos instead. Because of this, many couples leave their beautiful photos sitting on a disk. Print the photos, put them up on your wall, or make a scrapbook. Have a daily reminder of that day.

#5- Use Your Registry Discount

When registering at a store, they will give you a post wedding discount on anything not purchased for you wedding. This is a great time to get bigger items, or little things you still need. Just remember the item has to be on your registry for it to get the discount. So put anything and everything on it!

And that’s it! Pretty simple and straightforward, happy planning and post planning!
