A/V technician Justin Wilson is in the process of moving to the northern half of the state and will be leaving ICIT, his last day in the office will be May 27th. Justin joined ICIT in December of 2013 and during his tenure, he played a critical role in helping develop the UW-Whitewater A/V technology upgrade plan, which is being implemented to address campus A/V technology challenges. ICIT would like to thank Justin for his hard work and dedication to UW-Whitewater. ICIT is currently working on a transition plan to ensure we can deliver on the summer classroom remodeling goals.
Personnel Announcement – Lisa Rowland
UW-Whitewater alumni and ICIT staff member Lisa Rowland has given notice that she accepted a new position, her last day will be May 8th. Lisa began her 18 year career with UW-Whitewater with a brief stint in the Provost’s office before transitioning to the campus’s IT department. Lisa has worked in multiple positions during her time with ICIT, including a training position, Helpdesk manager, and lab manager. One of Lisa’s most significant accomplishments during her time with ICIT was the implementation of HPSM, however, she adds that her other great accomplishment is the creation of the soda sharing system (based on the honor system) currently utilized by the Helpdesk staff. 😉
ICIT would like to thank Lisa for her years of service to the University, along with her high level of commitment and willingness to take on additional responsibilities to help the department.
Personnel Announcement – Kent Steinike
Kent Steinike has accepted a position in the private sector, his last day with ICIT will be April 15th. Having worked in several roles for ICIT, Kent has made a significant impact on organization during the course of his tenure at UW-Whitewater.
Kent was instrumental in bringing in and deploying HPSM. Being a key part of the management team, Kent helped us establish ITIL-based processes and organizational structure. Kent also managed Help Desk, T1 and T2 verticals.
Some of his most recent accomplishments include creating and improving processes related to technology purchasing and asset management. The ICIT team would like to wish Kent the best of luck in his new endeavor.
Retirement Announcement – Ken Bothun
After 21 years of service, Ken Bothun is retiring from UW-Whitewater. His last day on campus will be April 17th. Ken has dedicated much of his life to UW-Whitewater, along with his professional tenure, he is also a Warhawk alumni having earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees here.
Ken began working for the department now known as ICIT as a graduate student in February of 1994. Since then, he has held multiple titles and served in many roles including helpdesk manager and special projects coordinator.
In retirement, Ken plans to take a more active role in his church and continue teaching one day per week. ICIT would like to thank Ken for all his years of service to the department and campus.
ICIT Personnel Announcement – Ray Stanek
On February 27th, UET Director Ray Stanek gave notice that he will be leaving ICIT. His last day will be Friday, March 6th. During his nearly two year tenure with UW-Whitewater, Ray helped lead the campus’s transition to Windows 7, which involved making updates to several thousand machines. He also played a critical role in developing a campus-wide strategy for making AV upgrades by providing direction and leadership during the process. ICIT wishes Ray – and his Chicago Cubs – the best of luck on their future endeavors.
