As we heard at Thursday’s Divisional Meeting, Linux server administrator Cory Zito has given notice that he will be leaving ICIT. Cory has accepted a position with a private company in the Milwaukee area. His last day in the office will be Friday, December 9. The Linux server administrator position is responsible for deploying and maintaining the University’s Linux server infrastructure and related services, as well as supporting enterprise storage environment. ICIT would like to wish Cory the best in the next step of his career.
Personnel Announcement: Jessica Eddy
Jessica Eddy, Technology Training and Advancement Advocate with ICIT, has given notice that she is leaving UW-Whitewater. Her last day in the office will be Friday, November 25. Jessica has spent the majority of her career in system administration and will be returning to that role for a private entity, where she will manage Citrix and VMWare environments.
We wish Jessica all the best in her new position and thank her for all the wonderful work she did providing technology training to faculty and staff, supporting the Class Climate software, and creating documentation in support of campus technology.
Personnel Announcement: Chris O’Connor
Chris O’Connor has given notice that he will be leaving UW-Whitewater for a network architect position at a firm in Brookfield. Chris’s last day on campus will be Thursday, October 6.
Chris has been with ICIT for more than 11 years and currently manages Microsoft Exchange, the Windows Systems and Ironport, the campus’s Ironport anti-spam system. As the campus “Postmaster,” Chris also plays a central role in preventing and mitigating phishing scams and viruses that target our campus email users. Over the years, he has managed many successful projects, including this past spring’s Exchange 2013 upgrade.
Good luck Chris. We hope to see a Warhawks cap added to your hat collection.
Welcome Howard Haynes!
Dear ICIT Team,
Howard Haynes will be joining us as a temporary AIS Director, while we will be searching for a permanent replacement for Anand. Howard will be providing leadership and guidance to the AIS team, while the Web team led by Christa, and the PMO team led by Stacy will report to me.
Howard brings a wealth of experience in higher education. His career includes more than 25 years of combined experience in information technologies within federal, state and public sectors. His current and past clients include the University of South Carolina, the University of South Florida, the University of Florida, the University of North Carolina Greensboro, Akron University, Keuka college, University Systems Georgia and Virginia Community Colleges.
Howard resides in Virginia, he will be doing some of his work remotely. The tentative plan is to alternate weeks between being on campus and working remotely.
Howard’s engagement with us starts on Tuesday, he will be located in Anand’s old office (L2004). Please be sure to give him a warm welcome when you see him.

Personnel Announcement: Amy Williams
LTC team member Amy Williams has given notice that she is leaving UW-Whitewater for a position in the private sector. Her last day in the office will be Friday, June 17.
For the past year Amy has been the D2L Site Administrator and Student Advocate, where she has been responsible for performing day-to-day management of D2L (e.g., course site creation, documentation, etc.), providing D2L support to instructors, and working with the First Year Experience office to design and manage the TechQuest online student training. Before her time in this role, she spent two years as the ITS Training and Technology Specialist assisting with D2L and technology training. Good luck Amy!
