Chris Schreiber Accepts Information Security Officer Position

iCIT welcomes Chris Schreiber as the new Information Security Officer. In this role, he will be primarily responsible for the campus Information Security and Assurance Program and IT Policy Development. Chris comes to UWW with over nine years experience leading and managing technology teams in higher education environments, including positions at Central Michigan University and UW-Madison. Chris’ first day will be Monday, October 1. His office will be located in L2008A.

Staff & Position Updates

Two new team members will soon be joining iCIT:

  • Dale Kranenberg joins AIS today, August 21st, as Web Applications Developer.
  • Jason Schmidt will be joining NOC on Monday, August 28th, as an IS Network Services Senior, in the position previously held by Nick Ciesinski. His office will be in McGraw 9.

Over the past year and a half, Margaret Martin has worked in a project position in the iCIT Adminstrative Office. Following Mary Schumacher’s departure in August 2005, Margaret graciously stepped in to fill the responsibilities of the Financial Specialist position and provide administrative support in the iCIT office. Margaret has announced she will be leaving iCIT, and her last day will be September 15th. Ranei Johnson Scholler will be assuming the iCIT office and financial responsibilities during the transition period.

New Staff On the Way

The iCIT team will soon experience the addition of several new team members.

  • On Monday, July 31, Mike Olson will join our department as a Senior Programmer/Analyst for the Administrative Information Services area.
  • Kent Steinike will be joining our team in the new position of IT Project Manager. Kent is an accomplished Project Manager and Customer Service Manager with 12 years experience, and an outstanding record of leading projects to successful completion. He comes to UWW from WPS Health Insurance, where he was a Program/Project Manager.His role in iCIT will move us forward with adopting a project management culture, establishing a Project Portfolio Management (which would help us to coordinate and prioritize resources allocated to competing projects) and facilitate understanding of project management principles with our customers. Kent’s first day here will be Monday, July 31st.
  • In light of Kathy Gibbs retirement from UWW, ITS is taking responsibility for the Distance Education program. Katy Bradley will help administer the program beginning August 28th.
