Mike Olson recently joined the AIS unit of iCIT as a Senior Programmer/Analyst. He comes to us from Fastenal Company in Winona, Minnesota where he was a Senior Developer. Fastenal is a distributor of industrial supplies with stores throughout North America, as well as in the Caribbean, Asia and Europe.

Baby Lauren has arrived!
Lauren Elizabeth Rollette was born to Jeff & Jeannine Rollette at 8:21 am on, Friday, August 18th, 2006. She weighed exactly 6 lbs and measured 19 inches long. Lauren is Jeff & Jeannine’s second child and Andrew Rollette’s first sister. Everyone is doing well.

PeopleSoft 8.9 went live on Monday, August 7th. There were some initial challenges with getting TouchNet up and running; specifically with the processing of student payments. These issues were resolved and TouchNet is now fully functional. As other smaller issues have been identified, AIS and NOC staff have been working to resolve them. Meanwhile, programmers are working diligently on completing the modifications that were not initially implemented. These modifications are expected to be ready for the commencement of the Fall ’06 semester.

Over the past year and a half, Margaret Martin has worked in a project position in the iCIT Adminstrative Office. Following Mary Schumacher’s departure in August 2005, Margaret graciously stepped in to fill the responsibilities of the Financial Specialist position and provide administrative support in the iCIT office. Margaret has announced she will be leaving iCIT, and her last day will be September 15th. Ranei Johnson Scholler will be assuming the iCIT office and financial responsibilities during the transition period.
iCIT’s own David Delgado and Lorna Wong recently presented several sessions at the 2006 Desire2Learn Users Conference in Toronto. The conference gives D2L users the opportunity to learn a variety of strategies and techniques for making the most of their implementations of Desire2Learn.
